Lots of depth. We got a great bunch of freshmen to mold into becomming 'Jackrabbits",Great talent there....looking forward to both exhibition games, and then a very challenging and entertaining OOC campaign to prepare us for the conference season.
We are picked to repeat once again,a vote of confidence, but a burden as well that we've managed to carry so well....we should just get uniforms with great big targets on the back...LOL

Our ooc will defiantly prepare us for conference play. Its going to be fun to see where we stack up against 2 perennial women basketball powerhouses in Stanford and Nortre Dame. This team has high expectations. I hoping for a win in the NCAA tournament this year!

On a more optimistic note, the women begin the season with an exhibition game next Sunday afternoon. The athletic department must have a record number of season tickets sold for the basketball season.

The tweet for Tiffaney Flaata's profile had her goals for 2013-14 season to continue her rehab and come back stronger than before. It might give her some extra time to get on track for her mechanical engineering major.

Getting close to top of Mid-major poll is getting pretty close to being ranked in the AP/USA today coaches top 25 poll.We were in 2008-09 season, and,Gonzaga,Delaware,Green Bay,Princeton, many more have been also and probably some of them will be this year.I don't worry about pre-season polls until the teams earn enough victories to merit them. It's just a target for teams to take aim at.Play your best and good things happen...a truism

Funny coincidence,we play (5) of the top 25 in the Lindys top 25 poll, and we play (5) of the top 25 in the mid-major poll.

Does anyone know if the game will be video recorded against Bemidji State,in fact, there's nothing on live scheduling for any basketball games, kinda late since the season starts in three days. Also, think i read where womens games will be broadcast on 570 AM,when not in direct conflict with the mens game due to the mirror crap...good to know.

From the players that return from last year, the nonstarter that could be the breakout player is Megan Stuart. She may have worked hard in the offseason to sharpen her skills.

I think, and judging from AJ's comments, that if everyone of the upper classmen improved, like I think because of natural progression....that is greater strength ,quickness, experience,judgement...etc ,from maturity, that we're going to have one heck of a team,as they were all very good last year.

It'll be interesting to see how much they've all elevated their game and add in what we get from a talented freshman class...we could be scary good ,once it all comes together and the team once again gels.

This year,we really have the OOC schedule to put them to the test.I hope they embrace the challenge and play each game to the peak of their ability and they learn and benefit from playing against the best.

I've always been impressed with Stuarts production in the limited minutes she's been given, her strength, her competivness, and her natural ability.Glad she'll be a Jackrabbit for two more years.

She has had some good offensive moves, but she had trouble on defense at times.

Both Stuart and Rachel Walters need to step up in both their minutes and production. It's their third year in the program and it's time to step on the gas.

She (Stuart)totaled 156 or so min for last season, and avg'd 2.3 pts.If you extrapolate that to Eide's min's(900),she spent 1/6 the time on the court ,so, 6x2.3 = 13.8 or roughly the same as Eide's 14 pts per game.

                              Anyway, it's all subjective.
I agree with your point that Eide's,Lingles, and Dietels points and min's will likely be taken by the upperclassmen and they'll have to up production ,....yes.

That's > 2300 min that are available to the roster just from the three seniors graduating.Walters seems to improve every year.I expect both Stuart as well as Walters
will increase their production given more floor time.

All the others will likely improve too,but unless we score more points per game(entirely possible),don't think most players will show anything dramatic,we tend to spread the scoring load around quite well, but, whoever gets a dramatic increase in playing time, will also show a corresponding dramatic increase in scoring avg.

Post players have to rely on their team mates to get them the ball when they're in scoring position.Lingle got fed the ball quite a bit,to her credit(she had great post moves),she responded by scoring, for the most part.

It's not realistic to multiply Stuart's production in mostly mop-up minutes and compare them to Eide's against the opponents best players. And Walters needs to find her three point shot back - her % was way down from her freshman year. If she can, that will really help take some pressure off of Waytashek.
