Agreeing with your point, showing emotion gets the crowd more into the game. What i meant about composure is staying focussed ,making the right decisions, thinking instead of reacting, doing the right things at the right time, and avoiding committing senseless fouls and turnovers which help keep your opponent in the game and give them hope,or momentem(sp?)Things like that,i guess.Maybe they're all Spock fans instead of Captain Kirk.....j/k!

I've noticed this too and am especially happy about it considering that we have a true freshman and a sophomore doing a lot of the ball handling. The future is looking bright.

Anyone catch attendance? There were about 50 Yote fans there...IF u count the team. In the 2nd year of these games being played again I guess playing sdsu only matters when the game is in Vermillion to Yote fans. Somebody tell me again this is our biggest rival maybe one of these times I'll believe ya. I would say USD's women are the 2nd best team in the league not that their fans care...but there's gap....could've easily been a 20+ point game if the 3 was falling. I could see them giving us a battle in the dome. Obviously anything can happen in that joint
        SDSU...Passionate, Relentless, Champions.

The Jacks had a decent day against decent competition. They stayed close to rebounding with the yotes only to be down 2 at end of game. The yotes leading scoring defense allowed 72 points with 22% shooting from 3 pt line. Overall the shooting for the Jacks was 48%. It could have been more than 72 points easily. The women moved the ball well on offense and committed only 13 turnovers which is a big improvement from earlier this season. the yotes wanted to slow the game down for the 2 big forwards who carry some extra weight and 1 of them usually walked up the court with the point guard for some extra rest. The 2 starting forwards were good for 3+ minutes before needing rest and the subs did not always bring the same offense. The yotes have some good guards and a good backup with the freshman from Watertown. The passing game and motion is getting better for the Jacks as we go along. 15 assists, 9 steals, and 4 blocks are a solid line against the second place team!

Since I'm from Watertown, I was interested in watching USD freshman Hemiller. She can play ball but, boy, did the atmosphere upset her or what?! She made a number of mistakes, turnovers and fouls and the crowd razzed her pretty good. She played at Watertown when Jackrabbit Tara Heiser was a senior for the Arrows.

              Welcome to the bigs!

She's a good kid and I'm sure she'll develop into a good college player.

She was terrible OldHare, she was shaking shooting free throws. We are not in Watertown anymore!

She did play a solid defense that the point guards did not zoom by.

Watertown is as big as Brookings people wise, and maybe seeing the home folks in the crowd, made this young lady nervous. I was not at the game but watched it on Jumptv, and hardly notice any nervousness. It looked like a sea-saw battle, Let hope we can win at USD.

She was very nervous...it was very apparent from the first 30 seconds she was on the floor. Rightfully so, being a true freshman playing in Frost for the first time with a lot of Watertown people in the crowd. BUT...it was not a sea-saw battle. We never trailed and USD didn't get closer than 8 at any time in the 2nd half. SDSU controlled the game from start to finish.

I beg to differ SDSU never got above 10 or 12 lead through out the entire game. It was a sea saw battle from that prespective. They let them hang around a ten pt lead. If we were better we would have expanded the lead and ended the game at half time. That did not happen and that concerns me about winning in Vermillion. It just might not happen.

We'll beg to differ on this one. More than once in the 2nd half we expanded the lead to 15. If a sea-saw battle means that you lead wire-to-wire and most of the game by double digits, then you have a different definition of a sea-saw battle than I do. Could we lose at USD...absolutely. Was this game a sea-saw battle...absolutely not.

So a 15 pt lead is a commanding lead? I dont think so and it certainly was not a blow out. Built a 10 pt lead and we let the yotes hang around and that makes it a seasaw battle in my opinion. I have not invested in tickets to Summit in March and have no regrets.
