U makes this a great night for the Jacks! Upsets ORU in Tulsa despite going 8 minutes wihout scoring in 2nd half and blowing 14-point lead.
That's a big win for Coyotes.

The regular season title is definitely ours to lose now. A two game lead with 7 games to go (5 at home) is very nice.

Just got back from a good gut check game by the Jacks. Oakland was really working on keeping Sunny and Lingle from scoring, doubling and even tripling when the ball came in to them, OU was daring the Jacks to score from three which worked in the first half. Walters was big hitting her threes when she needed to and probably won this game for the Jacks. When the full court press came late in the second AJ had a play worked out that was something to behold. two, three passes and deep to Eide for a touchdown. Met Jill Youngs mom and dad, Ashley Eides uncle and his family great people. As for the crowd. if there were a hundred an fifty not counting staff. cheerleaders. dance team. and band that would be stretching it. hardley any students. Good win and even better now that the U beat ORU. Hopefully the Jacks can do the same next week.

Good to have an on-site report SJ. Saw you in the audience on the OU feed we had for the game. I'm not sure about the earlier post in regards to this year's talent level. IMO, the rest of the league has upped its game to compete with SDSU, Oakland and ORU, so there are few, if any easy games. I get a little down on our team for mental mistakes, but we have upped the ante terrifically on defense...and playing tough defense does win games, even if it costs a little on the offensive end. The defense kept us in the game until we could get the shots falling...a really important attribute of this team. Even though we knew that ORU was returning all their starters, and Bigham is not as good as she was before the injury, look at how other teams are stepping up against them.

Final note...Walters really did provide the spark with her four threes, but somewhat overlooked, because her shots came sparingly, was Jill's four 3s as well.

ORU WBB still have the OU/IPFW road games. OU/ORU should be the women's BB game on bracketbuster day. OU MBB is away for bracketbuster.

AJ had everyone down within ten feet of the baseline, I think Jill inbounded to Paluch in the corner who threw it back inside, to one of the posts, while everyone was scrambling to chase the ball Ashley ran to midcourt completely losing her guard, the post then found someone more open who launched the ball down to Ashley at midcourt, she caught the ball and went for the uncontested layup with two OU girls scrambling to catch her. this worked twice in a row. He also had some other plays worked out that went pretty well but I don't remember them exactly.
Talking to Jill's mom after the game she expressed some of the concerns that this board has about Jill bringing the ball up court and not getting clean looks for threes, but as she put it, whatever helps the Jacks win Jill will do, and with the decrease in turnovers since she started to bring it up court they are happy and the threes will start to come again in time. No complaints from them. Because its her last season her dad has taken a sabbatical from coaching and they are going to every away game and home game to support her.
