    Re: Gdt - mtsu

In my head, I had this MTSU, Marist, one of the UALR (away), and Neb., possibly Marquette, as OOC losses. I'd also think that Jacks have a good shot at only losing 2 of the 11 OOC's. I seriously doubt that they will repeat last year, of entering the new year with a losing record. Need to take down the PAC-12, and BigEast teams this next week, and hopefully, win against that "other" mid major power, also.

We went back to losing focus toward the end, when the girl for MT got two offensive rebounds and put backs to score, that was a back breaker. When they learn the one and done philosophy( only allow one shot at the basket) we'll help our cause tremendously.

Cinncinati seems better than Marist(they seem up this year while Marist seems a little down this year) ,i think they're one of the best teams we will face this year, possibly.

Can't imagine we will shoot much worse from the field or at free throw line all year. I think our biggest problem this year is not having a quick point guard who can break full court pressure and get us into our offense. Many times last night we spent to much time trying to get the ball upcourt and had too much of the shot clock expire or we committed a turnover. We really miss Macie and her ability to attack a press.

Doesn't this apply to pretty much every team everywhere also? Its like saying if we score more points then the other teams we can win the game.

Yes the Voice of the Jacks( I did not catch the name) said she had some kind of an allegery attack and had been treated for it. He said when they had the team meal earlier in the day she looked very ill. He was surprised that she was able to play at all.

Wow...I was wondering why she only played 18 minutes.

                      It means that the Jacks:

                      - won't get worn out (cf men vs. Minnesota)

                      - will play good defense including contesting shots, blocking passing lanes, and forcing teams to play deep into the shot clock.

                      - won't turn the ball over excessively

                      - will get steals and rebounds and have a good transition game

                      etc.

Point being that the Jacks aren't going to get run out of the building, if they're hitting 40-45% of their shots.

I think our passing and point guard play will get better as the season goes on and that should help our turnover situation greatly.

                          Re: Gdt - mtsu

Despite Kemo's advice, I lookied at the box score, and the % shooting was horrendous! With that said, it's likely a direct result of a tenatious MTSU defense that challenged every shot (except FT, totally baffled by that). But SDSU keep the Raiders for hitting well, the TO margin was 0, so with even hitting 75% on FT, Jacks were right in that game. Both Gabby and Megan W saw double-digit minutes, and all 12 along played. It's a loss, but other than the L, not much different than a L to Marquette or Neb.

If I'm not mistaken MTSU had the lead against the #11 team in the country (Penn State) with about eight minutes to go and then lost the game. Our turnover issues were obviously bad. But what hurt just as bad is the fact we couldn't really get into our offense.

And Penn St lost to Deleware last night so they probably wont be the #11 team anymore. I see the Jack women did receive 3 votes in this weeks poll.

as I said earlier if AJ doesnt get the press down and figure out how to beat it we can expect two conference losses to ORU.
