I'll actually be in Vegas this weekend. If the Jacks are a 26-point dog, I'll be hammering that at one of the books. You see, there's no reason we can't all get along
Just so you know...they look at you like you are crazy when you ask about women's basketball games, maybe even crazier when you say South Dakota State.....I'm just sayin'
South Dakota State women just got a plug on the SVP Show on ESPN radio, as they were talking about a guy they knew that was headed out to Vegas ready to "kill it" in women's basketball. As VanPelt was laughing about it he mentioned putting two dimes on So. Dakota State.
And can you believe it...he even said South Dakota State and not the other SDSU, and he wasn't even sitting in an arena in South Daktota doing the telecast for a South Dakota State game!!!

Thanks for sharing propar80. It seems every year our women's program inches more and more towards people knowing about the Jackrabbits.

I heard that as well. SVP is becoming a fan. The controversy over the name mix up has gotten us as much press as our performances on the court/field. It's not all bad when people mess up your name.
We are here to add what we can to life, not get what we can from life. -Sir William Osler
We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are.
The same SVP that called us san diego state the other night on sportscenter?
Don't get too excited... 50% is still failing at even san diego state I hear...

Thought it was Trey Wingo(he hosted the tournament selection show I believe)...again. They do look similiar though, I'll give you that.
Yes, we hear about how the A10 is a "weak" conference all the time by our in city rival in the Big East.
While there might not be many household names in women's basketball in the A10, that's why we schedule such a tough out of conference schedule. (Stanford, Duke, Michigan, Louisville etc) The men's team follows the same scheduling philosophy.
A10 is considered to be the first conference besides the BCS likely to send more than 1 team to the play-offs. Their schedule was tough, and included several tight games in conference. The Musketeers did go undefeated through their conference schedule. Even if Jacks had the same record as the Musketeers, through our schedule we'd be no better than a 5-6 seed.
This would be more of an upset than beating Baylor two seasons ago. Jacks CAN win this with their typical stingy D, and speeding into try to get the transition buckets, plus a lights out 3's night. If this turns into a half court game, banging low all night, the results will be similar to the men's Oakland tourney game.
If they start gaining an advantage in shots in the paint ,say them shooting 50-60% compared to our 40-50% do to their height advantage, then yes,it wouldn't take too long before they gained a 10-15 point advantage. But,if we mix it up with the inside/outside game, and we're hitting the 3's,we'll be tough to beat.We can hit the good shot,if we don't start forcing bad shots, we should be alright. It's all about letting the game come to you,and not trying to make something happen that just isn't there.Confidence and composure, makes all the difference in the world,we've put it all together during the last part of the season, there's no reason why we can't win this game, if we play the way we're capable of playing.Go get'm Jacks!

It doesn't look like they go real deep on their bench.
This is true to some extent; however, they have some talent on the bench, but they do rely on their starters since the majority are seniors with experience. It must be something to have a team that has started in D-1 so well from the very beginning. Sounds like your team will be a force to be reckoned with. too bad you will have to play on X's home court. It's a tough place to play anyway, but with their focus it will be excessively difficult. One other thing that you may or may not know, Amber Harris did not start against Stanford due to a concussion received during the Duke game. It REALLY changed the way they play the game and resulted in a blowout. She is central to X's success and they played very poorly without her.

What's weird, relatively speaking, we could actually be perceived as getting "worse" as time has went on. Our first year of Tournament eligibility we were 30-2, won our conference, conference tournament and made it to the second round, last year we were significantly worse, had to win our tournament conference and were beat out first round by 7 points. This year we struggled, won our conference tournament to make the tournament and are playing a team expected to blow us out of the water. Weird.
