Not to change the subject back to the topic,but, if I remember right, last yr,after the Centenary game was when the Jacks started improving thier continuity,started getting the offense to flow,started to blast Summit teams.It just seems this team takes awhile to get some connectedness going in thier offense.

I'm not sure that shoveling the sidewalk of ones own home is comparable to cleaning the walkways and parking lots for an event that has the potential to have 100's if not 1000's of people attend. My father was at the game Saturday and is from out of the state. He is also in charge of snow removal at his place of work. He remarked how the city as a whole, as well as around Frost arena, was pretty poor in their cleanliness of the streets and sidewalks. Not that my Father is some expert in the field, it's just another point from an outsider.

Brookings is one of the worst cities when it comes to snow removal. SF is great I feel, so when in Brookings its a big difference to see the poor snow removal effort. I am surprised more Brookings residents don't complain about it.

I have no idea, but it's got to be a budget issue. Most places simply don't have the funds to pay the multiple crews it takes to plow, salt, blow, etc. multiple times for one storm.

I'm of the opinion that the city should wait until the storm has passed before they get out and clean up the streets, but I've got 4 wheel drive so the road conditions don't affect me much.

Its not a funds issue, its a priority issue. SF does well, probably to well in snow removal. Brookings and SDSU give very little effort. Not every drives 4wd so its a matter of clearning enough so you can actually park or drive with out giant banks of snow because Brookings only sends plows down a few main roads and leaves most residential areas untouched.

One question Jack1, did you personally shovel your walks before you left for the game? If so maybe you have a point, otherwise might go home and take care of your walks first.

Yes, I shoveled and/or blew snow at 6:45am and again at 4:00pm and again when I got home from the game...so do I maybe have a point?

My bad on the thread drift...shoulda known better.

I think (hope) this type of game can get our ladies back on track. They have two very winnable games next (WIU & IUPUI) and if they get a sweep...trying not to get ahead of myself...they would be at 4-3 in the conf.

apparently businesses downtown dont have to clear snow either. we went to cubbys before saturdays doubleheader and the sidewalk was terrible. dont they sell icemelt in brookings?

My daughters went through the drive-through at Subway at 11:00 am on Monday and got stuck and some employees had to come out and give them a push. Also agree that the outside steps going upstairs at Frost were terrible,even on Saturday - there was 1-2 inches of packed snow. You could see they had sprinkled snow melt on them,but it was too thick for it to work.

I use to work at brookings walmart in the auto department and we sold a butt load of it. It works best by shoveling the top stuff away and do ice melt.

He does have a good point, but if we split with top teams thats the most important think. If we beat the centanaries of the world, good for us, but if we can't spilt ORU, NDSU, Oakland, we have problems. We hopefully will split SUU, and sweep the rest.

At the same time getting back to a winning confrence record is the most important thing to focus on this week.

It's hard to take anything from this game good or bad. I saw some of the same unforced turnovers against an extremely overmatched team.

...some people are hard to please. Centenary is terrible, as we all know, but we still held them to their lowest point total of the year and gave them their largest defeat...
