    Re: GDT--Centenary

Most of this argument has little to do with this game and most specifically this thread, I will just drop it. CONGRATULATIONS WOMEN! You beat one hell of team!

Fair enough, I don't doubt they will be back. I need a few days to cool down after the last few losses.

Hang in there... The sun always comes up after a blizzard. Well, usually anyway.

650 attendance is brutal, but I'm glad the SDSU women went out there and did what they needed and were supposed to do vs. Centenary.

Hopefully this will spark something in them.

Officially, the attendance was 689. It's the lowest number for a women's game since December 2004 against Ferris State.

The game went as I expected...maybe even a little better. I still think come March we will be very dangerous...especially in SF!

Side note: I've bitched about this before, but I've had enough. There was about 3 inches of snow/ice on all sidewalks/entry-ways all around the HPER tonight. In fact, it didn't even look like anyone cleared any snow at all today. I will be calling tomorrow until I get some answers...

Unfortunately it will probably take a lawsuit...

Most of the sidewalks on campus weren't cleaned until the late afternoon and many of the walkways around the HPER weren't cleaned off.

Also, students are coming back to campus and nothing says "Welcome to Campus" like unplowed streets, parking lots and sidewalks.

                  /end rant

I wonder if you folks realized that it did not stop snowing all day.

On another side note its nice to see a team with a big lead and the ball at the end of the game not take a three point shot as the last second ticks off.

What's your point? That light snowfall throughout the day negates any responsibility to clean off sidewalks until the last snowflake has fallen? Fail.

One question Jack1, did you personally shovel your walks before you left for the game? If so maybe you have a point, otherwise might go home and take care of your walks first.

I'm not sure that shoveling the sidewalk of ones own home is comparable to cleaning the walkways and parking lots for an event that has the potential to have 100's if not 1000's of people attend. My father was at the game Saturday and is from out of the state. He is also in charge of snow removal at his place of work. He remarked how the city as a whole, as well as around Frost arena, was pretty poor in their cleanliness of the streets and sidewalks. Not that my Father is some expert in the field, it's just another point from an outsider.

I walked out of the SW exit of Frost Saturday night and those steps were terrible. Someone is going to eventually fall down them and depending how "litigous" they are...probably has a very good chance at getting paid. Can't see much of an excuse other than laziness. Where else on campus last saturday night was there 2600 people exiting a building pretty much all at the same time?? Rock Salt is an amazing invention and it's not all that tough to throw down, IMO.
For those people that don't think the "little things" like this matter...they do.

A cracked hip bone is not fun for anyone so I would agree and maybe complaints are indeed warranted to be made to the HPER Department. This is their building after all.
