I think Rotert's confidence is gone - on Saturday she didn't seem to be looking to shoot unless she was posted up down low.
Well either she takes some or Young keeps going shooting 20%. the game we are 3-20 on 3s. I remember when we use to shoot double digits on 3s. Oh how I long for those days.

...and exactly who else is willing to take that shot?
Not sure, hopefully someone who can make it. I think most everyone, teammates and fans, expected Kristen, Jill and Macie to take and make those shots with a pretty high percentage, that isn't happening, hence, the team is struggling. I realize it isn't quite that simple but I think its a good starting point if we want to place blame.
My hope, we are working out the kinks in anticipation of conference play. Optimism baby!!

We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are.
This team has no clue what they are doing. Its rather sad to see from how good they were just the last few years to now. Its many of the same players but they are not developing into new roles as other players graduate. Really disapointing. I am going so say it again, this team is going to be lucky to finish in the top half of the confrence this year.

It's gut check time for these ladies. We are getting ready to start conference and looking shaky. I don't know if our players are just playing super tight - but I think it is obvious that some have gotten their confidence shaken. Those players that want the ball and can deliver in crunch time are rare. We need to find one or two.

This team will finish in the top half of the Summit. I bet my season tickets on it.

The bottom half of the Summit is a grease fire...if we don't finish in the upper half somebody will need to pull me away from the ledge.
Side note: I start Heiser & Waytashek when the conference season begins instead of our 2 seniors. Quite frankly, I'm surprised Macie and Rotert are still in the starting lineup...

I think Macie's foot is fine, but I don't think her conditioning is there. On Saturday, she only played 3 or 4 minutes at a stretch. As I said on the Iowa thread,we sat behind the bench and Lingle and Macie especially seemed out of breath after short periods in the game - conditioning has never been a problem,so you have to wonder is some respiratory crud is going through the team. Might explain why some players minutes are so up and down.

Yeah, I have no doubt about that either. This loss is pretty disappointing, but most of our other losses are to very good teams and even though we aren't playing well at all we've been competetive against those teams. I think we are very close to being a good team. If AJ can get it figured out by tourney time we will be just fine. Only problem is that because of our terrible start we'd likely be a #16 team if we can make the NCAA's.
On TV's preseason chat,he said the coaches were adamant that this year's team was better at that stage than last years. I asked who was going to provide the toughness ,both mental and physical that Ketty and Maria gave - I don't think anyone has provided this yet.
