I would hope they can but I have my doubts, one being they haven't scored in 3 minutes

They broke 35. Only down 36.

It's not a good thing when the deficit is great than the points you have

          Final...Purdue 73, SDSU 40.
I'm sure the girls are totally embarrassed. They've got to put this game behind them and get ready for Illinois State on the 24th.

Never put a game like this behind you, post the score all over the locker room, at practice. Never forget a game like this happened, never forget how you felt afterwards. Now learn from it, and there is a lot to learn for sure.

I just hope they don't dwell on it!!

                wow.

I will say this. I want a rematch. The team that showed up to play tonight was not the Jackrabbits I know. I think I am glad I had to miss the second half, but it sounds like more of the first.

I don't know what happened, but no matter the score. I DO NOT believe Purdue is that good or we are that bad.

I am going to put this one in the we are allowed one WTF game a year.

I would not want to be Ill State next Wed.

We've had our three games, so I think we're done for the tournement.Just the championship game is left,& we're not in it.

Just got off the purdue board. They think the reason for the blow out was Purdues pressuring the ball the whole time, which seemed to unnerve us,(that explains the poor shooting & turnovers)and our inability to stop the dribble drive (that explaines thier high shooting percentage)

                          Here's thier write up.....http://purdue.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1154871

Sounds like what ORU was able to do in the two regular season games last year.

Yes,it appears we have the same problems carrying over from last yr,only Purdue has magnified them to blowout porportions.I can't ever get used to our team losing by 33 pts. That's alway's happened to lesser programs, not ours.
I can only hope these problems get addressed quickly .
If you watch video of the team ,they alway's come down & set up at the same positions to start the set. This is easy to anticipate and to start a in your face pressure defense. We need to revamp our offense when teams have figured a way to stop us from scoring.
Wait & see if this is a one time deal, or a continuing problem. We have good scorers, but we need space to operate ,maybe that's becomming a weakness if teams have figured that out and can shut down our offense like Purdue did.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the motion offense designed to get the ball to an open player?I don't think it works well when the player is standing at a position with a defender right in your face pressuring you with the 5 sec clock ticking. You can't really see well and you can't really pass well.
We are a pass then move team , if we can't pass , our offense just doesn't work.A lot of standing around for a pass that never comes, forcing someone to take a bad shot or lose the ball with a time clock violation.
You watch the older clips of the Jacks, we used to pick teams apart because we could attack the basket before the opposition could set up a defense,or the person with the ball was lightly gaurded & could wait to make the pefect entry pass .Times have changed,we don't have that luxury anymore. We became too good ,and being a game that constantly changes, people figured out a way to stop that.At times our offense looks stagnant, not smooth & fluid.I'm probably just a little disapointed right now & overly critical, but is it time for us to evolve with our offense?

Nope. Jacks had their 3 games guaranteed, and went 2-1. Only the teams playing in the title game have 4 games out of this tourney.

DePaul was the top ARV of the AP poll, so hope that Purdue takes them out to help our RPI.

Jacks did have a WTF game. And as bad as SDSU has had since transitional year. Did Purdue do that great defensively to create only low percentage shots? Yes, somewhat. But Jacks missed a herd of bunnies too. For whatever reason Jacks were really oof (and no that's no a typo!).

I hope that this game gets reviewed, reviewed, reviewed, because like what happened last night will become the game plan to shut down the Jacks. This is comparible to what the Jacks showed about the Cornhuskers, and all successful opponents of Cornhuskers took that SDSU/UN game film apart. Jacks will need to learn from this experience, and show that it was a complete fluke. Like mentioned earlier, this is similar to the few losses imposed by Oakland and ORU, and Jacks need to come ready EVERY GAME.
