Entertainment, distraction, burning hole in my wallet. All the same because she keeps it really fun.

One of the difficulties, though, is that you don't know how much time you're going to have--there's a minimum of, I think, 40 or 45 minutes between games--if the WBB game runs till 7 (which it has on occasion, thank you very much Summit League refs!), the men's game starts at like 8:45, but the men aren't on the court the full length of that time.

I suspect that's for the media members.
I think their official "warmup" might be only 20 minutes, but that must not include the stretching and shoot around they get immediately when the first game ends. From what I recall, some portion of both MBB teams are on the court for pretty much the whole 45-60 minutes in between.

Never have enough time to do much chatting with other fans about the first game.
I'm there with an 8, 6, and 3 year old. There is quite a bit of down time, enough that we bring some entertainment for them. We often meet our friends and their kids over by the athletic offices and let them run. I'm somewhat torn, doubleheaders are nice because it saves us having to make a trip up but they also take up the whole evening. By the time we make the drive back to Yankton it is late.

I think some form of planned/scheduled entertainment between games is a good thought. No idea if it is practical. I'm not sure how well the 2pm/7pm schedule would work in Brookings.

If not there yet, you will soon learn the primary rule regarding taking your children to the game. "What ever amount of money you have in your pocket, irregardless of amount, will be gone prior to the end of the game."

This rule sounds eerily similar to what happens whenever I visit downtown Brookings...

On a totally unrelated note today I met the Director of Athletics at Oakland Univ. today on a flight from Baltimore to Detroit. Really nice gentleman. He said they have (had) games scheduled with four teams, Detroit Mercy being one of them, those two schools don't get along, anyways when the schools heard Benson was coming back they cancelled the games. He likes the Dakota trip and is really impressed with the crowds for the games at Frost. He has heard of the rivalry with the U and wants to see the game when it happens to see what happens. Impressed with the teams AJ puts together, Brittany Carnago will be back this winter from injury, they have some good freshman coming in, And in a few weeks the AD's will get together and discuss UND. if the name thing is settled. Also hates the SUU trip. He is from North Dakota and his grandmother is buried in Vermillion. Also would like to see more Michigan area State fans come to the games at Oakland.

I met him at the Summit League tournament a couple years ago. Great Guy. Used to be an Olympic swimmer correct? I really liked him and the Oakland group of athletic officials.
