    Re: Cal State Fullerton

just back, had to watch the end of polar express with junior and put him to bed. He wanted to know why he couldn't listen to the end of the jacks game...gotta love that. Sounds like we are playing tons better this half.

Jack MD, nothing personal but in my opinion you may be judging this team too quickly. As i started listening to this game i was disgusted but you also have to remember not too long ago we played very well v. Kentucky in Rupp, and beat a decent UNC squad. I agree, thanksgiving night was terrible, but every team has off nights...especially very young teams like we have. We are not going to be a twenty win team, but don't pull a Nick Saban and say wins and losses and points don't matter anymore.

        Re: Cal State Fullerton

I have to agree with jr1979. We shouldn't judge this team too harshly. As the season progresses they should be able to string more good minutes together and some night someone will get hot from behind the arc.

On another subject, I think that Dellas Cole is doing a very good job on the broadcast. I frequently listen to the opponent's internet broadcast and I have yet to find someone as good as Steve Imming. So far I would have to say that Dellas Cole is a close second.

I couldn't make the game tonight, but saw the team against SEMO. This is a very young and inexperienced team. They're inconsistent and don't have much chemistry on offense. I think they'll continue to improve and one of these days, they'll put together a complete game and will upset somebody. I'm trying to keep their youth in mind.

The SEMO game was absolutely horrid, i am removing it from my mind and chalking it up to too much turkey that afternoon. ;D
In all seriousness, this young team will probably play to it's competition all year which will allow us to play with some teams (and possibly upset) some we shouldn't and lose to some teams we have no business losing to (see SEMO).

              Re: Cal State Fullerton

I think our guys showed some improvement and character tonight. No doubt Fullerton is tops to any NCC team that we faced, and they may end up at the big dance next March.

Our guys could have folded but came back and gave it their best shot. I do think we may be very premature to expect wins over quality teams even at Frost.  Our experience level is not there yet. That it, plain and simple.

Dellas is impressed with the come back and so am I. I like the sound of the crowd during the comeback. Hey we are D1 now.

                  Re: Cal State Fullerton

Nice 2nd half performance. Demonstrates that this team has some potential. Nagy will get the most from them. Nagy will be as harsh as anyone and often gets criticized for that. He expects the best out of his players and when he doesn't get it he holds them responsible.

I see nothing wrong with calling it like it is. 49-30 at the half is not acceptable and I doubt any of the players would say otherwise. A nice second half is something to build on and should be used in that way. Now its off to Marquette where I expect to see a more disciplined Jacks team that keeps the focus on defense and hopefully plays a little looser on offense.

All-in-all a nice comeback by the Jacks. I hope the media "spins" it in that fashion.

Nice comeback in the second half. We might struggle but this team will fight to the end.

Just wanted to quickly recognize the efforts of Loney. This guy really does a lot with what he has. He is tough and has a lot of heart. What a great teammate and a great player.

I thinking Holdren may be eligible still for a medical redshirt assuming he is lost for the season. Its too soon to tell, I guess we have wait for offical injury status.

I suspect it will be an MRI with intervention depending on that. If its a knee a scope could be done, it its an ankle then immobilization is likely. Best case is a sprain/strain and 2 weeks. Worst case its the season and a medical redshirt (if eligible).

Dellas has been in the buisness a long time and really does do a good job.

Delles has been doing BHS games for a ton of years, and I agree he is very good. I think it was kind of rough to have to fill in on such short notice. I dont know how Steve Emming plans his post game interview, but I doubt he has a an outline. Probably all mental notes made during the game.

I was not too surprise with Coach Nagy's comments. He wants to get to a better level in terms of team performance and win all the games, but he seems to have taken responsiblity for his short comings. I guess its about all you can expect from any coach. We will get better I am sure, and this young team has good potential that needs time to develope.
