I don't think it is necessarily new news but we do have offers out to both tweidt and pesicka. I really hope we land tweidt, i think it would turn a lot of people our way in SD if we could get the next big D1 recruit from the state.

We do need to get the Men's DI talent in the state to SDSU. It appears we are getting the best of the women in the State. I think every year there should be 1-2 Men and Women's players in the state that can compete at the DI Level. I think the success of the Women's team is helping immensely.

Over on Iowa Preps they listed the Class of 2006 Iowa Recruits who have offers:

Thomas Bassett-Denison-Schleswig Verballed to South Dakota State after impressing their coaches on the AAU circuit. "Bassett is an outstanding athlete who can play".

Jordan Eglseder-Bellevue-Marquette- verballed to UNI 7 footer and 260 lbs.

Jason Bohannon-Linn-Marr (Four Star Recruit)Among Iowa's best. Still considering lots of options.

Kerwin Dunham-Bondurant Verballed to UNI

Keaton Frye-North Scott Verballed to Valpo

Roman Gentry-Sioux City East offers from UNI and Illinois State so far. Stock rose after an outstanding state tournament.

Michael Tveidt from Pierre and member of the Dakota Schoolers was one of 12 players named to the Sabes Invitational All-Tournament team. This is a very prestigous tournament with a lot of talented future DI players in it.

I was hoping Tviedt would stay under the radar a little bit so we had a better shot at him this fall. I have a hunch he will open some eyes this summer and get an offer from a more established D1 program than SDSU, Creighton, etc.

It appears Jacks have interest in Casey Harriman 2006 graduate wing/forward out of Battle Creek-Ida Grove, Iowa. He was one of the top scorers in the state. UNI and Wyoming also showing interest.

Some new information from Scouts.com on 2006 targeted recruits at both SDSU and NDSU.

Jacks were shown to having interest in two players.

Roman Gentry 6'4 Sioux City East Bradley, Creighton, Iowa,NDSU, SDSU. UNI and Illinois State are rumored to have offered. Also Wyoming now in the mix.

Anthony Cordova 6'7 Sioux Falls Roosevelt- SDSU, NDSU This is the first time I have seen Cordova listed on any of the scouting services. It shows he is a one star recruit and has been offered by both schools. I think if Anthony has a good summer with the Schoolers his stock will continue to rise.

NDSU was shown to have interest in the following players:
Michael Lochner 6'10 Maple Grove, MN
Ricky Batsell Parks 6'4 North Minneapolis
Romain Martin 6'3 North Minneapolis
Doug Plumb 6'3 Hastings MN
Roman Gentry 6'4 Sioux City East
Anthony Cordova 6'7 Roosevelt

NDSU really appears to be hitting the Twin Cities hard. No mention of Michael Tvedit yet.

Iowa Preps is doing a piece on the top 2005/2006 seniors. This is what was said about Thomas Bassett.

Name: Thomas Bassett
High School: Denison-Schleswig
Position: Combo Forward
AAU Team: Rim Rockers Gold
In-terms of raw athleticism and ability, Bassett easily ranks among the top in the state. He was offered a scholarship last summer by South Dakota State and has already verballed to the Jack Rabbits. When things are going well for Bassett, he is a very tough player to guard.

The Dakota Schoolers Invitational is June 3-5 in Sioux Falls. According to Scouts.com the Jacks have offered Dakota Schooolers players Michael Tveidt 6'7 of Pierre and Anthony Cordova 6'7 of SF Roosevelt. Good opportunity to see both play. Schoolers website is at www.dakotaschoolers.com
