      Re: 2006 Recruits

We should be under the 05 recruits topic. Sussenguth has verballed to NDSU and O'Connor has an offer from Birmingham. Whatever else the Jacks are trying to do in 05 is under the radar. In 2006 the Jacks are shown to be recruiting Roman Gentry of Sioux City East. NDSU has a host of people they are recruiting in 05 and 06.

I would be surprised if both of the new big guys (Engen and Bilitz) aren't redshirted to add weight and muscle. With the current cast we will struggle inside next year against predominately DI competition.

I might be mistaken, but I hear the Krogmann (sp?) kid from Elkton is pretty good.

One of my sources tells me he has already flown to and visited the University of North Carolina.

That would be really interesting, since he has already signed to play at Augie.

To fill in, good but not DI good. Not expected to be an NCC superstar (from what I've heard). I wish him the best at Augie. Not talented enough for the future of SDSU BB.

I should re-phrase. Not my intent to take anything away from this very talented high school player. I have been impressed by his numbers but haven't seen him play. Visiting with those who evaluate these players I have heard concerns about his current level of play translated to the DII or DI level. Not to say there isn't potential there. Keeping a local kid at SDSU would only be worth it if beneficial to both.

I can't say for sure, but I think this kid has some talent. He's 6'8" about 220-230 and can shoot the 3. I don't think he has the speed and quickness but with that size and shooting ability I would have liked to see him with us. He'll do well at Augie. BTW, congrats to Elkton on winning their first title in 85 years.

Taking a look at the Dakota Schoolers roster for 2005 there are two players in particular who may be on SDSU's radar they are 6'7 Michael Tveidt of Pierre and 6'7 Anthony Cordova of Sioux Falls Roosevelt.

I'm pretty sure I read that SDSU is in contact with Tviedt already, but could be wrong. He is a very good player - would be nice to have him.
