Re: Men's Basketball: SDSU vs. Wisconsin-Milwaukee

The weather kind of stinks, and I think it is the start of HS girls basketball today?, but how many people will come to the game tonight. It would be nice if we had a big crowd for a good team like Milwaukee, and even nicer if we can pull off an upset.

This is a much different team than we faced last year. A new coach from U of Wisconsin has slowed the tempo way down (Just like Wisconsin does), despite his abundance of long and athletic players. I think this is in the Jacks favor, as we too are trying to slow things down. Milwaukee may not be as good as last year, and I hope that means good things for the rabbits--I think we might even make KELO news if we win.

You won't see the run and gun from UWM that got them to the Sweet 16 last year. This year they run the swing offense, the same offense Wisconsin runs under Bo Ryan. In other words, they slow it down and rely on excellent defense.

I'm taking the trip up from Sioux Falls with 2 other cronies to see my first b-ball game this year. I'll be the loud guy cheering from Row 14!

Might lose a few fans to the BHS girls bball game tonight. They play their first game of the season vs. Yankton at home. The two teams are probably (with my apologies to SF roosevelt) the top two teams in south dakota. Future jack Ketty Cornemann will be playing for the Lady Gazelles of Yankton along with two others who i believe signed with Augie. I would assume there will be a pretty big crowd for the game, hopefully it doesn't pull too many away from SDSU's game.

They may have a new coach and a different look, but with four of five starters back, eight of ten letterwinners back, picked as the favorite to win the Horizon League and picked by CBS Sportsline to return to the big dance, they will be a formidable foe. As Scott Nagy said after the dismal showing at Marquette, "the team we play Tuesday will probably be a better team than the one we played today."
The Jacks will have their hands full -- but we'll be there cheering them on anyway! Go Jacks!!

Beran already with 2 fouls. I think Cadwell is breaking out right now, he seems to be the man lately. I think he will be a special player soon. He has 5 right now. Michael Loney is a hard worker, and is pacing the Jacks with 9 already in the first half.

20-14 Jacks losing, 6:15 to go. Jacks started slow, but are creeping back.

                        Come on Jacks!

Cadwell now also has 2 fouls, but they have kept him in. He needs to be careful in there. The last thing we need is Cadwell with 3 fouls in the first half.

                            Turnovers
                            Jacks 9
                            WM 8

Alot of turnovers, but at least we are forcing some too.

                              31-21 UWM at half.

Only two people have scored for the Jacks - Cadwell and Loney. That needs to change.
