ORU loses AT HOME....to WIU!!! WOW!

IPFW lost as well, not good since we would like them to win and play them instead of NDSU. But they did lose at UMKC, not horrible.

The Summit seems to have its up and downs just like we often saw in the NCC. The first time I saw ORU play, they looked invinciable, but not now, and we better be ready for WIU, they may be on the way to reversing their first half of confence play.

I'm not sure our guys are as intimidated by NDSU as some of the fans seem to be. We played about our worst half of basketball of the year and still should have beaten them in Fargo. I'm more focused on how our team plays down the stretch than how IPFW or NDSU finish in the conference standings.

I think IPFW is a much better team than NDSU...and hotter. The only reason I want to avoid NDSU is the crowd. We'd go from having a very big advantage just just a slight advantage. Plus it plays out better for the Summit and SFSA to not have the two Dakota schools play in the opening round game.

I don't think the Jacks in Fargo were intimidated, so much as they thought they had the game won at the half and took the foot off the pedal. The Bison disagreed, put the hammer down and gutted it out.

I do think the Jacks are objectively a better (more skilled/talented) team this year. But more skilled teams still have to play 40 minutes or they will get beaten.

Win out the rest of the season and take sole possession of second place, that's what I'm hoping for. For this to happen we will need some help from the rest of the conference, after this weekend I might have to become a Bizun fan.

I would love to see the Jacks play the Bison in the tournament. Nothing better than a rival game in my opinion! The atmosphere in the Arena would be rocking for that one. Sure, the organizers would just assume see us only meet in the final. Let's face it, and I'm not meaning this as smack, it is not likely the Bison are going to advance past first round anyway. They just aren't very strong this year. I give them all the credit in beating us earlier and for their streak against us but it is time for the Jacks to turn it around.

No matter who we play, if the Jacks bring the type of effort they are capable of then they have a team that can beat anybody on the not so nuetral court. If they bring the "B effort" then we can lose to anyone.

The cool thing is we are in third and have a chance to keep things going!

I never felt our guys were intimidated. I think some of our fans might be. We should beat them handily regardless of the venue. I think our players and coaches believe that.

Exactly. I am so dang excited about a shot at the Big Dance that I can hardly stand to wait for the conference tourney. We have a chance to return in women's basketball and to break through in men's. It isn't going to be easy but we have a chance.

I don't think that the team was intimidated at all. I think that the loss can be attributed to the fact that any game on the road in conference is a tough game. Add to it the fact that it was a rivalry game and anything happens.

I think that our men now see the goal, a carrot if you will, at the end of the season and hopefully we will see a more determined team from here on out.

ORU falling to WIU at Tulsa just shows that you have to do more than show up, at home, to win. Jacks just "showed up" in the 2nd half at Fargo. This WIU win should be a reminder to the Jacks that they still need intensity, and drive to get the win vs the Bison Sat. Nite.

You could definitely argue that the team used that loss in particular as a rallying point and they all decided they are sick of this crap. Maybe not. I guess we'll see Saturday night!

I really don't think we'll make it this year.

                            However....

I remember when we went D1, dreaming of the day that we would make the Big Dance. It seemed like such a dream. Like, "if everything goes right one year, some year, we might just make it....some year" (like 2025). Well last year we were two games away, this year we have a squad that could get it done an the next few years we might even just find ourselves as favorites (since the tourney is in SF).

Never would have thought that no only do we have a chance but that the tourney would be right here as well.

But gosh-darnitt I miss those games against Augie, St. Cloud and Morningside, right Craig M?

Some clown gave me negative rep points for starting this thread. Maybe he prefers a ghost town board such as the UMKC or Oakland BOREDS. Leave your name next time nancy!
