Something I I thought of. The UMKC guy kept talking about how they had two guys on the bench the first half in foul trouble. He finally mentioned that Sarg and AC were on the bench in foul trouble as well. Turns out Sarg was the one who came out second half and lit it up.
It seems to me that everybody on the team is starting to settle into a role that is comfortable for them--if you watched the reactions of the guys on the bench during the UMKC game, you saw that all of them were fully in the game, and they were having fun, too. A LOT of smiles on the bench. Great to see.

I am in agreement with filbert. That being said, those smiles come about a lot easier when your team is winning. Winning is the cure of a lot of ailments teams have.
I thinking we are starting to see what we saw often under Nagy at the D2 level.
Group play overcoming talented teams. When they played as a group, we were very competitive and often shut down some very talented offensive players. Its about defense and rebounding. Nothing has changed and it should not as this strategy wins at all levels.
Maybe not the most talented players, but playing as a unit, his teams could often bring down some very talented teams. Looking at ORU and Oakland, there talent seems more than what we have, but when our guys get going as a group, we become very dangerous. I was really impressed with the D play of our guys in this game. Neither team was find the hoop, but our guys kept UMKC from finding more than they would have like to to.
