Re: Centenary GDT-Men
That was the best I have seen the men play team defense in a long time. I'm not gonna knock anyone for tonights game. Even the entire bench looked good (like to see Radar work on his footing). Shot a lot less threes for the game, mainly because there were lanes to the hoop players couldn't pass up. Really liked the ball movement in the first half when Cent. went with the zone. Extra passes along with taking time off the clock. Nice game guys!!Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

Re: Centenary GDT-Men
Best back-to-back games SDSU has played since the D-II days, hands-down.
The guys look very much like they figured a few things out over the Christmas break and came back intending to play the game like it needs to be played. Total team effort--everybody brought their A games, it seems.
Next: proving that they can take this new, improved Jackrabbit show on the road and win two winnable games in Kansas City and Cedar City.
But tonight, I'm a happy Rabbit."I think we'll be OK"

The Jackrabbit team that showed up tonight was the most hustling, intense Jackrabbit team that I've seen in a long time. (the first men's game I've been to this year)
I was definately happy they came out and played well after beating ORU, instead of coming out with a big let down.
I noticed right way how much better this team is able to run the floor, had some very quick transitions.

Re: Centenary GDT-Men
Two things; The dunk by Moss on the missed shot was the greatest dunk ever in Frost Arena!
Radio announcer had a comment when i left back to sioux falls with a few minutes to go talking about the freshman for Centenary that scored a few baskets at the end and celebrated altittle: "Tyler said, if he continues to play like that he will be a D-3 all-american in a couple of years! That was a good shot at that player! I was laughing for miles!

Re: Centenary GDT-Men
It was a good dunk and got me to my feet, but not sure if "best ever" is right.
I can remember many dunks from Bob Winzenburg, Steve Lingenfelter and Jim Walker on fastbreaks that were more powerful and often over more than one player. I remember one game, I think in the 79-80 year, where they had four straight trips with dunks all of which were as powerful as tonights. The first and last were on lobs from Kevin McNamara I think.
That is just from one game in one year, so best ever at Frost may be a stretch.
EDIT: Oh, and it does not have to be a put back, the timing, force, leaping and stretch can be just as good on long lob as a put back.

Re: Centenary GDT-Men
...not to be a thread-jacker, but since we're talking about it....the best dunk I ever saw at Frost was Greg Himler vs. USD on 2/16/96. He took off from about 1 step inside the free throw line (via a pass on a 2 on 1 fast break) and one-handed tomahawked it over a hapless Coyote.
...back to the game. Ok, it appears we may have figured out this intensity thingy at home...now let's take it on the road and kerblastificate some teams"Tell the truth and pay your bills and you don't have to back down from anyone"--My Dad

I agree with Steve and Tyler. There's a different look and feel about the team and it was fun to see Scott actually get into the game.
