Sounds like the refing left a lot to be desired.

Way to get back in the game, Jackrabbits!

Oddly enough, Indiana State football ended their losing streak against WIU and SDSU basketball ends their losing streak against WIU.
and don't forget we ended our two game slide in football this fall when we beat western.

Must admit, gave a big fist pump when I read this score on ESPN just a bit ago. Hopefully they can play a bit looser now and to their potential.

We all know how huge this win was.

This will be a huge boost to the team. Now they know they can win in the Summit League on the road and don't have to worry about reading about that anymore. Nice comeback. Maybe the energy level finally gonna get there and good things will happen for them. Keep it up Jacks!

                Re: Wiu-gdt

Watched the game on Summit TV (actually worked tonight):

I'm not saying we played great defense in the first half, because we didn't. With that being said, there were some pretty ridiculous circus shots WIU was getting to fall in the first half.

Was impressed with the coaching staff's ability to change things on the fly tonight. Nagy said in the postgame that they made defensive adjustments at half that seemed to work, calling timeouts near the end when we needed a bucket, subbing BEFORE players needed a breather, and even a technical foul at a time when the team just needed to get over the hump.

Congrats to the players for hitting big shots (esp Palarca), and not quitting when they were down 16. Its got to feel great for the players who have been here a while to finally get their first road conference win. Also, the freshman looked very good tonight (other than some bad turnovers, which freshman are apt to do). We were monsters on the boards tonight at all the right times. The future is bright.

Stat of the game: WIU missed 20 shots all game, we had 18 defensive rebounds. If you're going to give up a high shooting percentage, you darn well better rebound. Great effort on the boards tonight.

                    ...maybe.

'expecting to win' is an attitude that may take a while to grow and mature with these kids.

                        Re: Wiu-gdt

We also had 20 offensive rebounds and which allowed us to get up more shots. That is the big reason we won this game. Nagy post-game interview stressed that point. He also said he is very disappointed on the defensive end. Said he might have to be less stubborn and look at some other defensive schemes. Was also very proud of the guys for not folding.

Down 12 late in the 2nd half and end up winning by 8. Palarca had two HUGE 3s down the stretch. If we could get more offensive output from him that would be a big boost. White also made two big 3s in the 2nd half as we started to make our run. Fiegen was a beast in the first half with 9 points then got into foul trouble so didn't get back into rythem. Dale also gave us a big lift off the bench on the boards and with some tip ins.

I'm sure there are going to be some games this year where we are disappointed but we are starting to see some new players contribute and become weapons. That my friends could be very beneficial to us later in the year!

Coach Nagy also said he himself did not get negative for once and tried to be positive when they were down that to me is a welcome change too....

Congradulations to both the mens and womens teams!! I would like to send a huge thank you to all the Seneca fans and the boys high school basketball teams that came out for the game!! No doubt you made Garrett and Griffan very happy for your support!! The guys played one heck of a game. We were down, had a couple of tough moments, but what I saw was, I don't know how many players taking charges, setting picks and screens, going up for rebounds( not once but more over the same ball), communication, team huddles, and smiles at the end of the game. Our fans were loud, and thanks to the girls team for leading us in some cheers!!! The guys changed the tone of their game!! They adjusted, fought tooth and nail, and communicated! They should be very proud of themselves for how they came back!! We had Western on their heels at the end of the game!! And thanks to the coach for getting the technical! He was fighting for calls all night! GREAT GAME TONIGHT GUYS!! And thank you for sticking together and helping each other out! The outcome was WELL WORTH IT!!

To be honest I was a little concerned about the timing of the technical. But it appeared to have work for this team. All of Palarca's 5ft 6in frame was huge tonight. Down 16 --- it would have been easy to say here we go again and fold our tent. Maybe that made this first road win even sweeter? I heard you FANS! Great job.
