My desired rotation, including minutes per game: For the record, I think we have been spreading minutes around a little much. I know, I know, it's early and we have to figure out a rotation. That's not easy and it probably has hurt s early on. Hopefully now we have a decent idea as we play conference games this Thurs and Sat....
STARTERS:
PG-Wolters.........32MPG
SG-Ga Callahan....31MPG
SF-Moss.............11MPG
PF-WIlliams.........30MPG
PF-Cordova.........32MPG
BENCH:
PG-Palarca...............8MPG
SG/SF-Sargent.........31MPG
SG/SF-White............6MPG
SG/SF-Gr Callahah.....3MPG
PF-Fiegen................18MPG
PF-Cassaday/Rader....?
I have always liked having a deep bench. I say make Sargent your 6th man and that way you can kind of stagger your players a little more. Plus I like being able to pull a true scorer/shooter off the bench. Give Moss that SG/SF starting spot and let him concentrate on rebounding and defense while he's out there.
Not sure what to think about Casaday and Rader. I know it's early but it's tough to tell who deserves the minutes more...if at all. I guess it could depend on the opponent. Cassaday is more of a blue color guy, banger/rebounder (even though he's only 6'6) and Rader is more finesse.
I'm just not sure about Moss right now or what suits him best. Is he best suited at SF? Is he best on the floor w/ Wolters? His lack of a jumper kind of hinders him. I don't think his dee is all that great either. I just kind of see him as a guy without a role or identity. Moss is shooting 58% from the field and leads the team in blocks (3) but his 3/8 assist to TO ratio bothers me (Palarca is 17/4 and Wolters is 18/12).
Griffan Callahan is a guy who kind of worries me. We just haven't seen alot out of him in hs time here. I'm just not real impressed and not sure what he offers? I know he's supposed to be an outside shooter, but we really haven't seen it yet. Maybe he just needs a little more time.
If Fiegen plays like he did against Denver I would give him alot of minutes. Maybe give Kai some more minutes at the 3 and have Fiegen and Cordova on the floor at the same time and see how that plays out for us. Denver could just be one of those nights for Fiegen and he might have benefitted more from the opponent. But still, it hopefully gave him confidence that he can play at this level and gave us room for hope. If he's ca play at least near that level and he and AC can stay out of foul trouble it could let us run a 9-man rotation if we want to.
Not sure where Chad White fits in right now. Is he kind of waiting in the wings? Waiting to replace someone? Or is the staff looking to get him more minutes. He is 4-7 on 3's and if he continues shooting well that could earn him more minutes as we really need that off the bench. I think he eventually steals minutes from Griffan and maybe even Moss.
