It will no doubt be a better game next time. I think your team is better then what they showed tonight. But I think our guys just earned a little respect from some of the SDSU fans. We don't have the same team that we have in the past and I do believe we are headed in the right direction with the coaches and players we have and also the ones that have been recruited for the future. Good luck to you and I'm looking forward to the next time we meet.

I don't think there were too many (and i emphasize too many) jacks fans who weren't respecting the bison before tonight. What were you hearing?

I am embarrased as a fan. Tonight was the result of two years of building a program. We have been out scheduled, out coached, and out recruited for two solid years. It's starting to show. And now we are being outplayed.

Nothing overly negative, its just that in the past we have been know for Football and our BBall program has taken a back seat to them. The first comment in this thread pretty much points out how teams have looked at us in the past. With the coaching staff we have and the players were recruiting (woodside and Nelson for example) our Basketball program is nothing like it has been in the past, we are much better. Considering we are starting 4 true freshman our guys are only going to get better. There is alot more excitement for the mens Basketball program right now with these guys then I can remember in a long time.

Congrads to the Bison team and fans on the big win. I was listening to WDAY, and they were wanting to search the media records for the last time that SDSU had lost to NDSU by this wide a margin. I guess its kind of like when SDSU wins over NDSU in football. Its a big deal.

As far as the red shirt freshman, NDSU has more of them and they seem to be better prepared to lead than say Andre Gilbert and Matt Cadwell who Nagy commented were being pressured heavily to be the leaders.

I dont expect the NDSU blowouts to continue. NDSU looks like the better team now, but I dont think Nagy and the team will roll over and play dead.

I would hope we get something going when they play in Frost.

Just watching Hornby, being red shirted, in warm ups, he can shoot and if we can runs some plays for him, he could makes some difference offensively. Lets hope he can do some great things defensively as well.

Also during warmups one of the big centers that are being red shirted, was practicing defending against Michael Loney, and at times he managed to stop Michael great fake plays. Loney will be very tough once he learns to controll his feet better. He got nailed maybe three times for traveling tonight.

I was switching back and forth between WDAY and WNAX on the way home from the game. Nagy took the blame for tonights game and he mentioned changing some things on defense which apparently did not work at all.

There is no doubt the Bison kids can drain them if they get the looks, and they got way too many looks tonight.
Also WDAY talked about the rebound edge which was was in SDSU favor 34-33, and we had at times 2 or 3 offensive rebounds that were totally squandered. Had just one of the three of the put ups on offense went in, the momentum of the game might have been different.

I think Woodside is a real class player on the floor and I heard him on the radio.   He does not expect an easy game at Frost in February. They felt it was important to stay close to SDSU in rebounds to win and knocking down the threes made that a little more possible.

Nelson, Moorman and Brown did preform well for red shirt freshman, but maybe we let them put on their show too much. The Jack defense really fell apart especially when they let Hahn have his way with 5 three pointers. Lets see if he can repeat this performance at Frost. He will be hiding tattoos down there. You have to see the BSA video board for Phil Haan to get that one. ;D

As far as past Bison teams, I think they have had some excellent players, and maybe the coaches have had problems getting them to play together. NDSU has always been competitive. Maybe just one or two players short of having several great teams. I have always respected them, and right Miles might be ahead in building a D1 program.

No doubt your team is heading in the right direction. I hope when we get some of the redshirts playing next year we'll be in your situation. I think you mean you have 4 redshirt freshman starting, not true freshman.

Just having a little fun, no disrespect intended. We did have your number the last few years. I hope we can regain that either next time we meet or next year. I have mucho respect for all of NDSU's programs and am glad that you guys are our brothers in the move to DI.

My mistake, we are a young team and looking to get better with each game. Looking forward to the next meeting in your backyard.

I just got back from the game. This is the first time I've seen them play this year.

They had no answer for Woodside. He is quicker than anybody we had on the floor.

21 turnovers - the Bison had 10 steals, several for break away lay-ups.

Bison were 11 of 17 on 3 pointers. No answer for those either.

Berte was impressive. Very active at both ends of the floor.

Gilbert looks very talented, but tonight he repeatly drove into the lane and got surrounded under the basket. Then he would have to try to throw up a shot that had no chance.

Cadwell I didn't notice much except when he managed to get open for a shot, he generally made it.

I'm no basketball expert. Those are the impressions I left the game with.

I am no expert either, but was at the game and Walrus's take is as good as any. We started out and matched up pretty good, and controlled the boards, but not being able to score on three offensive rebounds a time or two really hurts, and bursts the bubble in a hurray. In the mean time Woodside found the perimeter range in the first half and opened the game about four threes. Two other Bison also got threes and the Jacks fell apart from that point on. To have 4300 fans cheering on helps too. Thats what we need at Frost,

Very dissapointing. The NDSU game at Frost may now be a must win to get some respect back.

On a lighter note, I was with Filbert and looks like the others were wrong, the Dynasty is over.

Over on Bisonville McFeeley is not a popular guy, but I think this was a very honest column on his part.  Maybe one of his best, and he is giving us the benefits of doubt as to what has happen to our program.

So much has happened at SDSU the past two or three seasons to put us were we are at right now.

I mentioned this in a prior post, and not being a bb x and o guy, Nagy mentioned in the post game show that he had this past week changed some things on defense, and that may be explain all the good looks the Bison got on the 3pt line and beyond.

Seeing the game and noting the NDSU roster, its pretty solid. These young guys they got are very good athletes. If you doubt me, show up when they come to Brookings next Month. I think we can only improve and move on.

I think this game while dissapointing, embarrasing and whatever else you want to call it is just one game. Let's face it NDSU is not 30 points better than the Jacks. They played a great game and we played horrible. I think we will even the series next month. If you add Holdren,Jones and Green to the Jacks we win this game. I think next year Cam Hornby will give Woodside all he wants as I think he has the quickness to play with him. Things will equal out a bit next year with us adding our own four redshirts to the squad. I like Miles as a coach, but will put my money on Nagy over the long haul.
