If you've seen this team play this year, this is no suprise. They can stink it up in a hurry. WHO can score for this team on a consistent basis?? I'm sorry, but our beloved RABBITS our not very good.
I have seen them play many times this season and I am surprised. I really believed that the team had turned a corner with the Montana State game, but apparently I was wrong.
My point exactly . . . . this team has had FEW moments of becoming a decent basketball team, but the majority of the season has been BAD basketball. This team has nobody they can turn to when they need a basket on a big possesion, they have NO gaurd play . . . unforced turnovers happen way too much, it's very hard at times to watch these young players play. They play hard, but that just doesn't get it done at the level they are playing now.
Okay, I didn't get to listen to the game so what the hell happened? Turnovers? Poor shooting? Hot shooting by the Bison? What was it? Did anyone play well for us? Who played well for them?

I think Cadwell has held his own against other guards, but can't be expected to do everything himself and be expected to carry the team, if he could he would be playing for a much more established team.
I've wanted to say this for a long time and can't hold my silence any longer. I agree with you, the other guards are a nightmare and make me long for the days of Geiver and Hokenson.
Kleinjan brings absolutely nothing, and I mean absolutely, absolutley, absolutely nothing to this team. If you want someone to take up space, maybe make a pass to the wing or the top of the key, Andys your man. If you want someone who is a threat to score, look elsewhere. I would rather see Frias play over Kleinjan anytime. Sure he is guilty of making turnovers, but he can penetrate and possibly a threat to score.
Heien can shoot, if he is open, but is overmatched against quicker opponents. With the return of Holdren and his ability to penetrate, this should benefit Heien next year.
I like Caseys enthusiasm and hustle but is better suited for DII.
I hate to be negative but these are my thoughts on guard play for this season.
Now lets cheer on the women and end this night on a high note.
A result of us winning six of the last seven and them being tired of it, they've been hearing it from everyone and just whipped our guys.
They really shot the ball well, it started with our defense. We changed some things up, it made our guys less aggressive. The problem with switching is that if a guy gets 20 points, 'he didn't get it on me.'
Can't use youth as an excuse. They just played better.
Mohamed Berte didn't quit, played physical. The rest of our guys didn't respond to the physical play.
As poorly as we shot, you should get beat on the boards (outrebounded by one). We're just so bad, it pains me to say that. We've given up 50%, something we have to change.
Unfortunately for Matt and Andre, we put so much pressure on them to score and make plays, neither one of them are ready to do that yet.
Central Florida, I don't know if they're as good as they were last year. But we're not a respectable basketball team right now, we just don't have the focus. I keep trying to tell them that if it keeps coming from me, that's not going to work. We need the players to decide to be committed to be a good defensive basketball team. Until we get that done we're not going to be very good.
I'm going to have a hard time letting this go. We're going to have to watch this game tape and take our medicine. We're a very soft basketball team right now.
Let's face it, we have several average players on this team. Recruiting Andy Kleinjahn has hurt this program, as has bringing in players like Casey. These are players that can play at the NAIA level, but I don't think either of these two could even have helped us in Div. II.
Cadwell is a good player, but not the type of player that can create and score when this team needs a big bucket. I know the coaching staff was hoping for BIG things out of Andre Gilbert, and that may still happen in the next couple of years, but he still needs to develop an outside shot, and show some better decision making with the basketball.
Heien is a good shooter, but he can't get his shot off now that other teams know that is ALL he has. He can't score off the dribble, he can't get to the glass because he is too small.
HELP, this team needs some gaurd play. Where oh where are guys like Sempsrott and Hansen, players that could get it done in crunch time??
Can this program be turned around?? How will this year affect recruiting???
