The Jacks went ahead 71-70 on a pair of free throws by Beran. MTSU tied it at 71 when Fats Cuyler hit the second of a two-shot free throw. But SDSU did not get a shot off in the closing 25 seconds.

In the overtime, SDSU had its only lead at 80-79 following a three-pointer by Cadwell. Cuyler scored on a drive and Vogelsberg hit two free throws to put MTSU up 83-80. After Beran scored for the Jacks, the Blue Raiders scored the last six points of the game.

Trio produce career night to rally Blue Raiders to OT win

      MURFREESBORO, Tenn.
      - Career performances from Adam Vogelsberg, Tim Blue and Kevin Kanaskie weighed heavily as Middle Tennessee came from behind to beat South Dakota State, 89-82, in overtime in front of 3,127 at the Murphy Center Monday night.

About the play of South Dakota State's Matt Cadwell:
"We saw he averaged 15 and was their best players. I didn't expect him to make some of the big plays like he did. He will have some good years ahead of him."

      Junior Forward Tim Blue:
About Monday's win over South Dakota State:

"We were lucky, and we took this team for granted a little bit. We were fortunate to win."

I agree with most of the posts about how we competed tonight. It makes you proud to be a Jacks fan with this kind of effort. I had two radios on at the same time listening to both the men and woman. What a night.

Something tells me this won't be the last record to be set by Cadwell during his career

We have some good players to build around the next couple of years. If we can add a few more pieces I believe we will be very competitive with the mid-majors.

You know you're doing well when you've got the opponent's fans complaining about how their team is playing.

That's what I heard in the arena Monday night. It was cool.

They were DREADING Cadwell getting the ball in position to shoot. Some of them thought he should go to the NBA!

Lets not get too high over a loss, even though we showed potential there is still a lot to be desired for this team. NDSU will focus their D on Cadwell and we need to be ready for that.

As for the future, we have proven players in Cadwell, Beran and Holdren returning. Loney and Kleinjan can satisfy a role on the team. Frias, Heien, Casey are big question marks. As for the freshman, time will tell.

Who knows where Gilbert and Berte will be.

Yep, you shut Cadwell down and this team is toast. MTSU players and coaches were also saying that they definitely took SDSU lightly going into that game. But, they won it anyway.

NDSU won't take us as lightly. That will be a difficult game to win. Not impossible, but lots of things have to go right for us and wrong for the Bison to get us into a position to win.
