    Blue Raiders hunting Jackrabbits tonight
Non-conference clash on tap as MTSU looks to bounce back from loss

MTSU will take a brief detour from its hectic Sun Belt divisional battle.

But tonight's matchup with South Dakota State is hardly a break.

The Blue Raiders are coming off their first loss in three weeks and facing their third game in just five days.

"We need to get the last one out of our system," said MTSU senior Fats Cuyler. "This counts toward our record, but it isn't a conference game. But playing just a couple of days later could be a good thing, so we'll be ready to play."

South Dakota State (7-16) is fresh off a 75-58 win over Texas-Pan American Saturday, but it was only the Jackrabbits' fourth win in their last 13 games.

Nevertheless, South Dakota State won 81-78 in overtime Dec. 10 over Denver, who snapped the Blue Raiders' four-game winning streak Saturday.

MTSU also has a two-game road trip to Arkansas State and Arkansas-Little Rock waiting later in the week, giving the squad five games in 10 days.

"(The scheduling) is not that bad right after a loss because you get right back out there and play on a Monday," said MTSU coach Kermit Davis. "We hope to play well, and that will lead us into a big weekend on the road against two teams who are right with us in our league."

The Blue Raiders are coming off one of their poorest shooting performances of the season, but one of their better defensive efforts.

"We play hard and our defense can make some things happen. We just need to hit the shots that we usually make," Cuyler said. "If we make those shots, we can do a lot of good things at the end of games."

Tonight will mark the first meeting for the two teams.

MTSU is 7-5 in non-conference play this season, including a 3-1 mark at home. South Dakota State is a mere 1-10 on the road. . . .

    Go State! ;D

This is (once more) A Game We Can Win!

I'm here in Murfreesboro and finally have Internet access again.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Rabbits, hopefully they'll bring some of the swagger and good feelings coming out of the UTPA game down here.

The tide will turn . . . and even though I'm in SEC country I don't mean the Crimson Tide!

                      Nepotism on the board?

I don't think we have much of a chance tonight but thats why they play the game. We need to hit 10 3's and keep our to's less than 15 to have a chance.

Someone keep up up-to-date on the women's score.
