      Re: Nagy Must Go!!

20 losses is pretty bad but come on.... they beat 8 of the 9 conference teams.... and they were in pretty much all of the conference games and were in a lot of the out of conference games also.... Nagy said the difference this year is after they got down they fought back that is something that they haven't done in the past.... And the big thing is they don't loose anybody that contributed major minutes.... They have some good recruits coming in, I hope Davis can come back or if not that Feigen or somebody can spell some minutes for him defensivlly. Kai can't defend the other teams 5 man.... This team surprised me, I thought they'd be lucky if they won 5 games when I saw Davis wasn't going to be playing this year... They won some games that they shouldn't have won and lost some games that they shouldn't have lost... but I'll say this that looking at this season they played a lot better then they have in the past....

Can this thread go away? All it is is another platform for naysayers with one-note arguments that will probably be the first to jump back on the bandwagon on or about Jan. 15 next year. Go Jacks!

Nagy stays. I like what he is doing and in the long run we will be more stable than our partners up north. Nagy has proven he is able to adjust and learn, this team still needs an inside presence and a vocal leader. But the talent is there and able to compete when the heads are in the game. As for your original post, I think you have something personal against the man.

That is five 20 loss seasons in a row. At any other school he would be GONE!! Don't give me any garbage about improvement. 20 losses are 20 losses.

Ahh, I see rabbit_boy is right on cue....no where to be seen after the ORU win, but I'll be damned if he didn't piss his pants because he couldn't get to the computer fast enough to bash Nagy and the Jackrabbit men after the loss last night.

I would agree with you there in normal circumstances, but these aren't. We just ended our reclassification process and Nagy has had other things go on beyond his control. He will not be fired at the end of this year. I doubt a new AD will do that to a coach that has been here as long as Nagy has. If, however, improvement isn't made next year in avoiding another 20 loss season, then he may be gone. I sure hope not.

                    Re: Nagy Must Go!!

Nagy is staying, and this thread is closed.

Filbert adds: while I have some qualms about it, I'll let the thread closing stand. If people who want Nagy fired (and at this point we all pretty much know who they are) have something actually constructive to add--such as what kind of coach is liable to come to SDSU for not more than $120k a year, no multi-year contract, no coaching show or other outside income to speak of, etc., etc, then that would actually add something tangible to the discussion. But if all you want to do is vent then start a smack thread, because all you're really doing is smacking at that point.
