Request Description:Really, this is the second day of the Summit League tournament and you still have audio problems with video on the Summit League site. I know the problem is not with my computer because the audio was great on the team site. Is this a local production problem at the tournament, and don't you have people there or in contact with people there to fix this. A lot of people are complaining about it.

Please ensure that you are up to date with all of your software. Please just verify by downloading the following:
If these do not work, please advise us so we may troubleshoot further. This is the most common issue and by making sure all of these are installed, this should correct the problem. If you still cant get the game to stream you can contact us at 1877-967-3267.
Thanks,

Request Description:I and a lot of other people have purchased the Summit League Tournament package. So far the product that JumpTV has provided us has been anything but satisfactory. No audio with the video that is understandable, choppy picture, freezing up, then playing, very fuzzy picture. I ahve been reading a few fan boards from the schools and the complaints are plentiful.. I know the problem is not with our computers as the audio from the individaul sites are good. Is this a problem with the production facilities at the tournament. In the transmission lines. or at JumpTV itself.
I will continue to watch Jump because it is my only source for the games, but I must say that I and a few thousands others watching are very disgusted with the service and I will write to the Summit League and voice my complaints with them also.
Please try and rectify the problems. Give us what we paid for, Quality.

We recommend increasing your buffer time. This will make the initial download slower, but will make the streaming video run smoothly once it has started. While increasing your buffer time, you might also want to try adjusting the video acceleration to halfway, instead of full.
To find these options, open the program Windows Media Player and press the ALT button on your keyboard. You will then see a small options menu open. Select Tools, and then go to Options.
Once you are in Options, look for the Performance tab. This is where you will find both the buffer length, and video acceleration. Try setting the buffer length to 20 seconds.
Also make sure that you are using Windows media player 11, and have Adobe Flash installed on your hard drive. You can also check your connection speed at http://speedtest.jumptv.com/, as you will need to have over 500k per second to view streaming video.
Yes, clearly, increasing your buffer time will fix the audio sync problems... not. And increasing the buffer is probably not very useful on those occasions when no video is being sent at all. You'll have fully buffered "blank" on your screen. Awesome.
The thing that interests me is that JumpTV seemingly has no interest in solving any of these problems. If it's a failure of someone at a venue to start sending them video, that should prompt a phone call from a JumpTV engineer (they KNOW when these events are going to be streamed... right?) to get the video stream started. Audio sync is a tougher problem to diagnose, but it seems clear that they have no interest in that, either.
Apparently JumpTV's business model involves selling a service, turning on their servers to wait for streams to come in to them to be distributed... and that's about it. I'm imagining a company with about four employees, chugging Mountain Dew, playing Halo3 and laughing all the way to the bank while screening their calls and email.
does anyone know how long a contract there is with Jump? seems like there have to be more people than them providing similar services and if they can't fulfill the minimum on their contract than go elsewhere...
I would rather pay an extra 10-20 bucks a year for something that works than keep forking over money for a product that doesn't work 90 percent of the time.
Glad to see this problem being discussed here. I've been livid about the service all year long, and I've been tempted to send scathing emails about the current audio problem directly to Tom Douple (but he obviously has plenty on his plate during the tourney). In any case, here is something I posted on the Oakland fan board a few minutes ago:
As we've discussed on numerous threads, the quality of Summit TV (which is run by JumpTV) has been terrible all year long - and, to make things worse, the audio for all the tourney games is not working. If you read the fan boards of other Summit teams, everyone is having the same problem (so the fault is not with our individual computers).
After sending numerous technical assistance requests/tickets and getting unhelpful answers, I called them (SummitTV-JumpTV) on the phone this morning and was told that they're aware of the audio problem and are still "working on it." When I asked if I could lodge a complaint, the customer service rep admitted that the most effective thing would be to contact the league to complain.
So: I would suggest that all of us who are unsatisfied with the Summit TV (JumpTV) service this year complain vociferously to the Summit League offices by phone and email. Tell them that the Summit TV service has been an embarrassment to the League, and that the league should pressure JumpTV to improve its service dramatically or risk losing the league's business. The Summit League office manager is Brenda Hilton, who can be reached at hilton@thesummitleague.org or at (630) 516-0661, ext. 14.
What I am not comprehending is how JumpTV isn't pre-testing their feeds prior to bringing them up for consumption. Why are they allowed in to provide this service with no commitment to provide an adequate product?
If I was JumpTV, I would have been working, testing, and using the best service in the conference to get this product up to snuff. The feed from Tyler's call was well meshed with the video in the IUPUI game. Which means it should be good from here on out.
If Summit league is going to charge for this product, rather than give it away like BigSky or Southland conference, then they need to have a good product to SELL, not this POS that JumpTV provided this year.
In my very limited experience with the Horizon League Network, I thought it looked quite a bit better than Jump TV. It is also free. Not sure who runs the network, looks like probably the league itself.

My complaints worked.....
Now I will not be ALLOWED to watch tonight's game (my IP address is blocked by JumpTV). I will be writing the Summit League about this pitiful producer of a "service" company.

Wow. That's unconscionable. Sending that along to the league office is DEFINITELY the next step.

Using a proxy server should take care of that blocked IP address problem...
