The NCAA doesn't have a rule allowing 'de minimis' style perks?

Well, I guess they wouldn't. Seeing how they are, after all the NCAA----if coming up with rules was a great way to prevent cheating, there would be no cheating in MBB at all....

What do you think Jacks can use from the 'Roos win to knock off the Chips in Fargo tomorrow?

(Guys & gals will lock this thread drift)

Rather, what can the Jacks use from the SUU win?

IMO--post game as in the Bison have none.

I don't think a Jacks win in Fargo is impossible. However, I think it's going to be a lot tougher after the SUU loss. That loss was the 'lapse' game that the Bison were due for. That means the Jacks ain't gonna get it.

However, I wouldn't say a win is out of the question. In fact, I'd argue that this Jacks team is sufficiently better than the Jacks team that played in Frost, and that the improvement may catch the Bison somewhat off-guard.

If Moss can display his form from the Saturday game, and get =into= the lane then he and Cordova should be able to pick the Bison apart.

Key on defense, IMO, will be isolating Woodside. IMO you do that with Moss. I don't know that you have Moss shadow him as he comes down the court, but once the Bison setup in half-court, you rotate Moss to Woodside (if Casey or Palarca are in), and you accept a size disadvantage somewhere else on the court.

The goal, IMO, should be to get the ball out of Woodside's hands as quickly as possible after transitioning, and to keep it out of his hands after that. I think your best chance at that, after Saturday, is by running Moss on the #1 with Garrett on the #2, Griffan on the #3, Kai on the #4 & AC on the #5.

Thank god nobody thought of Jacks and Jackies. oppps don;t hurt me. Thinking we got SUU on a good night. But is shows NDSU can be beat, the Jacks almost pulled it off here and like Nagy said, Don't get on the bus if you think we, the Jacks, cant win. I only want people with the right attitude on that bus.

I find it hard to believe we are a better team right now than we were at Frost when what we could call our second best player is out with an injury.

Yeah, I typed that before I remembered Sargent is out, and then forgot to edit it out.

And I really wouldn't call him our second best player. The cool thing about this SDSU team is that it's becoming so well balanced. When I go to games with people that haven't been in a while, or haven't been before, I just tell them, "watch 10, 23, 20, and 40" and give them a little background on each of the guys.

Although that's getting a bit silly, as I'm now up to dang near the entire starting lineup. Last year it was just "watch 23--10 and 20 can light it up sometimes and Beran--he's okay but he gets into foul trouble too easy"

That's kind of what I meant by "what we could call." I Should have probably phrased that better.

Despite the loss of Sargent, the team that plays Tuesday will be, IMO, a bit more seasoned than the team that lost at Frost.

                  ---

Again, not going to predict a win--especially after the NDSU loss and with it being senior night.

However, I do think the Jacks will bring a good deal more mental toughness into this game than they brought into the last one.
