I agree and also when someone is hot like Kai let's continue to feed him the ball as for some reason he did not get many more touches after he started the second half on fire!
Agreed. One recurring problem i saw last again was when we get a descent lead,we start running down the shot clock and then settling for a bad shot. We had several bad posessions in a row last night and let them back in it, sort the play not to lose mentality. I don't know if this is a coaching or player issue, but it's not working.
I know you are talking about last nights game. I'm not one to fawn over a player for having an isolated descent game, just as i don't call out players for the occasional bad one.
What baffles me about last night, is that the players want this streak to end more then anyone,so how could they put out such a poor effort.....all of them.
The difference is we have grown to have certain expectations of Garrett and Clint and not so much for Mackenzie so when he comes in and produces and does some positive things I'm going to call him out. The thing I don't understand is how we don't execute even when we are coming out of a timeout with the shot clock down. That scenario played out again at the end of the first half and we failed to get off a good shot. I think once again as just noted once we had the seven or nine point lead under 10 minutes we milked the shot clock and did not get good looks and almost played not to lose. This team almost plays better when playing from behind rather than enjoying a lead in the the second half. Do the players play differently or are they being coached differently.
My view on the game was it was just a sluggish game.... except for a couple of runs by each team nobody played great... IUPUI got the last run.... Garrett and Clint were off, with out Cordova nobody could guard there post... Kai had a nice second half... but it was just a pretty bad game... I like Casey and I think that he is a good pg but he has to quit shooting... I don't care if he makes some of them he is a horrible shooter....

I certainly can agree with all that. As far as your last sentence/question, i'm not sure, In most cases it's usually a little of both........ over coaching and players getting tight and not continuing doing the things that got them the lead in the first place.
