I love the idea of a concession/ticket package.
Yeah, I began investing last year to start saving for 'retirement' and all that stuff... So much for the savings part.

Agreed with both you and 1stRow. Its an amazing idea. They do it here at KU for football games and its a huge hit. 2 adult tickets, 2 student tickets, the fixings, for 70 bucks. Pretty darn good deal. KU Basketball, not so much, but you can get general admission for a couple games together and save 40 bucks. I digress. I think it would work well for all sports at State and could lead to more families getting involved just as an outing rather than the die hards that have a serious commitment. It is the best show in town in any sport. (and when I say in town, I mean in the state. Its ridiculous that people would rather take their kids to some ridiculous semi-pro mess in SF than drive the 45 minutes to Brookings to be apart of something that is great to watch. Semi-pro = gag.) Sorry end rant.

Hey thats okay to drift on that subject. You guys don't open the 401K letters and I don't open the school loan letters. I just tear them up and pretend that the money I am spending for rent, heat, groceries, etc., is just fun money. Wish this emoticon had tears.....

I would love to sit in the middle of the student section, especailly at the NDSU games, but not with my daughter. As you move out and away from that area for well attended games, we have at times decided it was better to move than to try and explain what was happening around us. Nothing that would have warranted getting security, just discussion I'm not sold on having yet. Designate an area and the students know that is a "family" zone so may behave better or sit not so close, and more likely that get more parents to buy the package.
A lot of the pro teams have family friendly areas for these type tickets. No alcohol, no swearing, put the section in an area of Frost where the little ones can have an area to move around like they usually do anyway.

I asked about this. In the past there has been opposition in the department to any kind of ticket discounting. That opposition no longer exists and people are looking into this idea. And yes, they had seen it on the board before I mentioned it.

My sister over by Huron reports that the local paper (the Daily Plainsman) has had ads for free tickets to SDSU games, although I haven't seen them myself.

Yup. Some free tickets are going out as well (although not in USD-like quantities). They're trying to build a larger base, and it's a good idea.
