IDK but its peer speculation that since he is a walk-on they can't put him on until he is enrolled/on campus and he may not have started summer classes and the other ones have. But that is just a guess.

Isn't this Marty "the one man party" Jacobsons nephew? Marty is a good dude.

I wonder why we added 3 walk-on PG's this year? Seems a bit strange. I wish we could have found a 6'8" banger that wanted to walk-on.

I think due to our low numbers on the roster the staff just wanted numbers so we can at least run a practice.

Olson was mentioned on the forum a couple months ago when he was added on as a walk-on.

This is the first I've seen of Joey Feilmeier but he too must be a walk-on.


Corey Jacobson from Vigorg-Hurley was also supposed to walk-on. I wonder if he still plans to considering he wasn't added to the roster?

I see Zach Horstman and Zach Monaghan have been added to the roster on Gojacks.com. Also two guards Joey Feilmeier from Dakota Valley and Alex Olson from Brookfield WI - are Joey and Alex scholarship recruits? Sorry if I missed information on these two in previous posts...

Still find it hard to believe we have not found another "big body" to add some depth in the 2011 class. I'm sure it's not for lack of trying. Maybe the coaching will find a diamond in the rough yet this summer.

With upwards of 3 open schollies, I hope we have a chance for a couple yet..

FORGOTTEN MAN: He's not talked about much, but Fremd's Zach Monaghan (22.3 ppg as a senior) is a terrific recruit for South Dakota State. The 6-2 guard's strength is his shooting ability, but he also has a better feel that will ultimately get him on the floor sooner than later for the Jackrabbits. Monaghan put together some solid work during the IBCA weekend.

I think we will still be good next year, but dor us to have a special year or overcome an injury to a post we need to add another one. JC route is probably only way to go. I like what someone else posted, I would hat to waste one of Nate's years with a lack of depth at another position.

Pierre's Josh Monroy has signed to play basketball at Otero Junior College in LA Junta, Colo. He's the 7'+ kid that has not played one full season of basketball. Didn't play a second his senior year.

and if he can even show an ounce of athletic ability and the ability to stay healthy he will get D-I looks, because in the end you can't coach height/size.

I would expect and hope all our current players will improve their strength and skill set from last year. I don't think it's realistic to expect the two freshman guards to come in and make an immediate contribution based on the experience we already have at that position and would hope they can redshirt. The point is we need help in the post as we have no depth or significant size and that has been an ongoing problem. If we are not able to bring anyone in who can contribute in that area than from my perspective this recruiting season was a failure and another wasted year of having a marquee point guard and not the right parts around him.

Any rumbling of late JUCO Centers we may be in on?
