USU is a very good mid major program and if they have interest Josh must have decent potential.
Hope he doesnt break from a strong wind snap like a twig. 7-2 and 225 is not right. atleast he has time to grow into his frame hopefully. 7-2 is worth a look in my book.

I believe SDSU has offered Monroy. IMHO, SDSU has the inside track.

I suppose at 7'2", everyone saw him at the game.

I could be wrong on both of my opinions here....but....I saw Josh play AAU this summer and he didn't appear 7'2. 6'10, 6'11 maybe. And he didn't impress me in any way either. No disrespect, just my opinion.

TV said in his live blog today that we haven't offered Monroy, but have interest. I think this class of recruits needs a point guard for the future and a big. Estan Tyler is an outstanding point guard from the cities and he is still unsigned. I don't know if we have interest in him or not.

Congrats to the two Zach-men on their decision.

Anyone out there compare these players to current/former SDSU players? What are they like on the court? Thanks!

I don't know much about the Zach from Chicago but Horstman would probably be closest to Chad White it type of player. Really explosive, really good shooter, not quit the ball control type of player Chad is but is a little more physical and would be a little better inside. I haven't seen Heemstra play but from what I'm hearing kinda a White/Heemstra cross of a player.

De Pere’s VanDenBergh receives second Division I scholarship offer

De Pere junior Brett VanDenBergh earned a scholarship offer from South Dakota State this week after helping the Wisconsin Playground Warriors capture championships in travel-team tournaments in Indiana and Kentucky.

VanDenBergh (6-5) missed the entire 2009-10 high school season with an injury, but has come back strong and now has scholarship offers from North Dakota State and South Dakota State.

An outstanding perimeter shooter with excellent size and physical strength, VanDenBergh is also receiving strong recruiting interest from both Green Bay and Milwaukee.
This kid is from 2012. His HS teamate, Kading, just signed with NDSU. We'll see if he follows his buddy up there. NDSU also has an offer out to him.

TV reporting that Nagy will play Horstman at a wing. Expects the other Zach to be a lot like Garrett C.

Also reports that Nagy wants to add 2 more guys. JUCO and prep players being considered, no specifics provided.

Looks like SDSU recruit Zach Monaghan was in a car accident recently. Hope it's nothing serious.

And the Vikings did it without two players — South Dakota State recruit Zach Monaghan and Joe Leaf, who, according to Fremd coach Bob Widlowski, were in a car accident Thursday and weren't in school Friday. Widlowski said neither player broke any bones but he wouldn't elaborate on when they would return.
