Re: Cal State Bakersfield Game Thread

I was at the luncheon too. Nagy said definitively that he believes that this team will turn things around that they will do so this season. He was very clear on that. He also said that every young man in that locker room are aware of the expectations that fans have for this program and they want very badly to start rebuilding to that point.

In some cases, he said players have put too much pressure on themselves. Interestingly he said that many of his players are also very aware of "the blogs", although he asks that players to stay away from them and concentrate on the work they have to do.

I'm thinking that we ne need to support these boys and let them do their work. Stick to support and cheering the team on.

Even though he hasnt played a college game yet, Nagy said he was gonna get some minutes and said he was the best shooter on the team.
I hate to be "negative nancy" here, but being the best shooter in practice doesn't mean much to me. I certainly hope Griffan is as good as Nagy says but i also remember him saying Mac would have helped us win 4-5 games last year. It's safe to say the jury is still out on that one.

What else is Nagy going to say? This reminds me of that Iraqi VP saying when Bagdad was following and US troops could be seen down the street that things were going Great for the Republican Guard.

Nagy did say that Griffan was the best shooter on this team, but also cautioned against expecting too much from him since he hasn't actually played in a college game.

But beyond the shooting, he simply said that Griffan was tough and would contribute to our depth. He said that Griffan isn't the answer to all our problems, but five players playing like Griffan does is the answer.

I think he would have. He controls the ball well and does not usually make many mistakes. If he could have been able to help get the ball to Beran in the post for a few more points i think a few games last year would have had different outcomes. A few less turnovers and a few extra assists could have really made a difference in a way. I agree we can put all our eggs in one basket, but the fact that his brother can shoot it and play good. I would only expect to see him shooting it a few times, not as many as Garret or Clint, but engouh to give us another outside shooter which is a good thing if you ask me. He might help be that spark plug and effort this team needs. He won't be the anwser but he will be a good addition for sure.

If toughness means he will go to the floor and rebound and hustle like a Chris Stoebner than it will be a lot more fun to watch. It would be nice to see some more emotion out of these guys!

If Griffan is anything like his brother (albeit a little bigger) I'm glad he's on our team. Garrett definitely brings toughness to the team.

That would and should never be the starting lineup. If that happens I may never attend another Jackrabbit men's game again.

Haha, agree with the lineup issue. It will happen. Just give it about an hour and a half.

Yikes. I guess putting the team in a 11 point hole against Minnesota wasn't enough for Coach Nagy

The scary thing is, two of those 5 probably couldn't start for another D1 team in the nation.

I do not believe so. "Crazy bug" on Coach's part, I think.
