Does our hopeful and expected acceptance into the Mid Con affect anything with our incoming freshman as far as their reshirt status? Who plays this year? Who reshirts? Does it change anything at all?

I don't know why it would affect anything regarding redshirts. I think Nagy will be using his best players regardless of whether or not we get into the conference. I believe the articles for Williams and Callahan both mentioned them possibly playing this year, I don't know about Cordova, Hoogeveen or Bassett though.

Word is out that it is a JC player, I haven't heard the specific name or where he is from. The person I heard it from says the source was Nagy. I haven't asked Coach Nagy myself. We should all know in due time.

As for redshirts and the mid-con, I think Bassett plays and Cordova RS for sure. Not sure about the other 3. Obviously, if the latest rumor of a signing is a JC player he will play now.

i've heard more about him and know the details about him, and all the paper work isn't done yet. more will come when the paper work is done, sounds like a good kid though.

This new mystery recruit must be taking Andre Gilbert's scholarship, huh? ... The roster is looking better and better all the time with the recruits from Canada, Illinois, etc. The Jacks should be in excellent position when their first season in the Mid-Con comes along.

My updated guess on the starting lineup:

Jose Frias 6'2 Point
Matt Cadwell 6'3 Shooting Guard
Kai Williams 6'6 Small Forward
Mario Brandon 6'6 Strong Forward
Mark Engen 6'10 Center

I thought Frias played well down the stretch and after a year playing under Nagy will be a leader on the floor. I look for Hornby and Callahan (if he doesn't redshirt) to be the first guards off the bench. My speculation is for Cordova to redshirt, but Bassett will most likely play by neccesity similiar to Holdren's situation two years ago.

What about loney i think mikey is gonna start this year no matter what he knows the system and is one of the captains from last year and will probably be a captain again this year. however I don't know where yackley, and kleinjan will fit in on the depth charts.

IMHO-Loney is a nice role player who is better suited coming off the bench and giving you all he has in spurts. He is our Mark Madsen (Timberwolves) who gives lot's of energy and can be effective in short stints. I think his weaknesses are exposed the longer he is in the game. It's nice to have a guy like him, but he is not as athletic as some of the other guys we now have.
