I saw a reference to this message board on Minnesota Preps, so thought I would pass along the following post that I put on Minnesota Preps this morning.

Just a couple of things regarding my son, Nate Wolters.
First, the earlier posting about Nate having narrowed his choices to two colleges was not true.
Also, it is true that Nate will not be going to South Dakota State. Basically, SDSU wanted Nate to sign early, but we had some concerns that could not be addressed until after the basketball season. SDSU was aware of our concerns, but continued to push for Nate to sign early and even sent the National Letter of Intent to him last week. Finally, this past weekend, it became clear that there was no reason to continue the recruiting process with them. As far as we were concerned, it ended Saturday evening with an email to the SDSU coach.

It looks like SDSU is going to sign a very good player from Brookings. Best of luck to Brayden. Nate's AAU team played the Schoolers two times this past spring. They were a great team. I don't remember Brayden specifically, but I'm sure he must be a quality player.
Thanks Mr. Wolters. We sometimes only get details that end up with a wrong preception. Your son apparently has talent, and no doubt a good person. We would have loved to have him at SDSU, but apparently that is not going to happen. We do wish your son the best in the future. Choosing a college when you have choices is something I never experienced, but for those that do, you only can hope you make the right choice. Having supportive parents is an asset to Nate.
Nope SDSU staff cut ties....nothing to do with verbal from Carlson as the verbal came last night a day after staff moved forward. I believe it was quite tiresome to wait around for a commitment from an athlete that had no other offers from schools at the same level. Scholarship might go to athlete on board already or be held for future use. All depends on development at the PG position of athletes currently on roster.
SDSU coaching staff has ended their pursuit of Nate Wolters and are moving on....he will not be in an SDSU uniform during his collegiate career.

I'll take the substantive information Cadsev has brought to this board any day.

I'm not sure who terminated the relationship first and it really doesn't matter. I don't think from SDSU's perspective it would have been wise to wait for the young man to make a decision until after the season.
Kinda does matter when we have a expert on our site who everyone worships, from what I gather and now he tells us something he figured we wanted to hear.
From what the dad said, he had some concerns and they could not be anwsered by SDSU coaches until the end of the season. Wonder what that was? Pretty obvious IMO
I have 2 problems. First, I don't think anything is obvious and I think you may be assuming something that is NOT true and purely speculation. Second, most of us value Cadsev's input on this board and you're making an attack based on speculation and technicality.

Can you tell me what you think is so obvious?
IMO, Obvious Question would have been a hold up for Wolters to make a decision is: " So coach are you planning on being here for a couple more years?"
BTW, is there not speculation all over this board? Do you need examples? So just relax!
I asked a driect question to Cadsev and he gave an anwser that did not jive with a parent of a recruit, who came on here to set the record straight, end of story!
while I truly value Cadsev's information and opinions and evaluations, the first thing that entered my mind on "after the season" was whether Coach Nagy would still be at SDSU. Mr. Wolters post did not say after whose season, it is just speculation as to whether he was referencing high school or collegiate season. As for who broke it off, my guess is that as with any situation, each side has their own interpretation. That is not meant to be slight on anyone, just a comment on human nature.

He said/she said.....depending on whom you talk to there are different versions of the story but in the end the result is the same. Nate Wolters will not be attending SDSU. Best of luck to Nate and his family.
Bingo, I think my fellow fans are reading too much into what has been said by who or whom and he,she and it and any other pronoun that is applicable. Nate Wolters is not coming to SDSU. NO S--T LET IT GO.

I've never run into a situation where there are multiple versions of the story. Almost uniformly, every story has one agreed upon version and that is taken as fact. I mean, just look at our history books and something as sacred as the Bible. All without any alternative versions. Get your poop together, Caddie...and Mr. Wolters for that matter. I expect better when I come to the fansite board looking for cold hard facts.
