Rumors can be fun or they can be harmful. Time will tell. If these two young men want to play again and the rules will allow I would welcome them back.

Interesting talk about returning players has been heard by several people.  I wonder if Coach Nagy will address this in official fashion or just continue to let the talk occur.  I'm hopeful that the rumors are true but don't want to perpetuate them without the permission of the players or the team/coaches.[/quote]

      Doc,
Here is your unofficial/official validation via Coach Nagy, taken from Terry V's blog (http://blogs.argusleadermedia.com/sports/)

SDSU men’s basketball coach Scott Nagy said that it is possible 6-7 forward Ben Beran could rejoin the team next season. Beran, who would have one year of eligibility remaining, averaged 12.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game last season. He didn’t return to the Jacks this season to deal with the passing of his father, but has remained in school.
“We’re hoping,” Nagy said. “We don’t know yet. Ben and I are going to sit down this week and talk.”
Nagy also said that he’s hoping former center Mo Berte will come back to school, and possibly rejoin the team. The 6-8 Berte was suspended from the team last season in light of some legal issues, but the charges against him have since been dropped. He is not currently attending SDSU and Nagy aknowledged that, “there’d be more that would have to be done,” for Berte to be reinstated. Berte averaged 8.5 points and led the team with 7.2 rebounds per game last season.
      Interesting to say the least...

Yep, interesting. Glad we have Terry V. at the Argus to bring these things to light. I would welcome Beran an Mo back with open arms. We have a very solid team with these two back for our first year in the Mid Con.

Appreciate Terry asking the questions and appreciate Coach being willing to answer them even more. Time will tell. Their experience would certainly be welcome, not to mention their size and talent. I for one am hoping both will come back.

I, too, would love to see Beran and Berte come back next year. Beran, especially, since he's been close to the program for several years. Both could be major contributors.
