Really nice second half by the Jackrabbits! Good to see the progress.

Troy is the player selected to be interviewed at half.

Was surprised to see him in the game, I haven't seen him play at home and don't remember him playing yet. Also, didn't realize there was only 1 min left.

I believe this is the 4th game Troy has played this year. He averages about 2 minutes a game.

                    Nagy:
The problem is you get down nineteen, it's just that offensively for the first 24 minutes we were just tight. None of our guys were relaxed. Kai passed up some open shots, I had to get on Matt. We rebounded better in the second half, we competed. I think we were just tight in the first half.

I didn't like that Graves was out. I want to take somebody else's best shot. I would have preferred he had played. He wasn't shooting a good percentage, somebody else had to take those shots. He takes a lot of shots, just like Cadwell. I would have preferred he played.

I don't know if they lost a lot, he probably would have guarded Cadwell. We were just very tight. Had we played as loose as we did in the last sixteen minutes, we'd have been in this game.

Bassett twisted his ankle, has some swelling in it. I'd anticipate he'd be back for next week.

The first half is misleading, we shot 20%. We missed 16 shots and only got one of them. Butler's not that good a rebounding team. We've got to start putting games together. I feel like I do our team a disservice, I feel like I can't be too hard on them, but I watch a team like Butler, I think I've been too easy on them. You look at Butler, in the first half, they just man-handled us. I haven't asked enough of my players, I take the blame there.

I don't know how many points Blake has scored since the UMKC game. We need more consistent scoring out of guys. I thought Mike did a good job after being out. He was the one guy who could compete physically with those guys.

We should be completely healthy and ready to go with the guys we've got eligible. I think the guys are starting to understand what it takes to compete at this level. One thing is that we need about two years' work in the weight room, to get to where Butler is.

Well, the toughest part of the schedule is over. Hopefully there are some wins ahead. A half-dozen more victories would be nice.

I think a 10 win season is very doable. 13 games left, with 7 at Frost. I would like to see us finish strong and build some momentum for next season!

There were many people asking me today about Kai when I was out and about in the city shopping, most of them are bball people and they know their basketball, when I told them he would be playing Butler today with his team they had this painful look on their faces...can't wait to see them tonight at Jamal's University b ball game to tell them he was high man and they only lost by 15 ...I will forget however to mention Graves was out

Interestingly, the average Sagarin ranking of the first 17 teams on SDSU's schedule is 204.9. The average of the 13 teams remaining is 207.8.

So yes, the schedule gets a bit easier, in that the highest Sagarin-rated team is NDSU at 129, whereas in the schedule until now, Butler is at 14, Northern Iowa at 58, and Utah State at 93 are all now in the rear view mirror.

Coming up, besides NDSU, Utah Valley State is #140. CSU Northridge is #155. Middle Tennessee is #161. Texas-Pan Am is #242. IPFW is #279. N.J. Tech is #325.

SDSU is #322 in Sagarin. Our best win is vs. Arkansas State, #225. We have home-and-homes with everybody left on the schedule except a home game only with Middle Tennessee.

The Jacks still have an uphill road the rest of the year.

One thing which will be interesting to see is how much if at all SDSU's ranking moves with the relatively close game at Butler.

Interesting analysis of the schedule, Filbert. I don't know if there's much difference between a 15-point loss and 40-point loss, in terms of ratings points. A 15-point loss is much easier to accept, though. I'll still hope and cheer for six (or, better yet, seven) wins in the last 13 games. Which, as pointed out in the Filb-alysis, won't be easy.

However, I will point out that so far we have played 17 games and only 5 games were at Frost. The rest of the way we have 13 games with 7 at the World's Largest Rabbit Den.
