CHAMNESS: Callahan finding touch at South Dakota State
At Seneca High School, Garrett Callahan finished his career as the all-time leader in points (1,710) and assists (440).
It's uncertain if Callahan will acheive those lofty stats at South Dakota State University, but he is definately making noise as a college freshman. In his last two games for the Jackrabbits, Callahan has scored a total of 29 points.
It was his best two-game stretch, thus far, and it included a career-high 16 points against the University of Missouri-Kansas City Kangaroos. He hit two field goals (one 3 -pointer) an 11-of-12 free throws. He added six assists, grabbed three rebounds and had three steals in the 79-71 win over UMKC.
He followed that performance with a 13-point effort against Montana State. Callahan, who hit 5-of-9 from the field and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe, also had four rebounds and three assists. Callahan struck twice from beyond the arc. . . . (read more)
