Yeah it was pretty fun to remember some of the guys...seeing Sempsrott and Himler and many of the other 1990's faces brought back a lot of fun memories of many nights spent in frost growing up.

As for the game....we weren't going to be denied the W tonight. Forced the WIU TO with a minute something left, and Kai had the huge board on the missed free throw.

    Awesome win!

      Re: WIU in Brookings

Mo played a heck of a first half. He was dominating the inside. Sad to see his senior year end like that.

This game was very physical in the second half. Mike P. was shoved by Washington on a drive causing Mike to fall and no foul. There was a timeout after that and the ref came over to Coach Nagy patting his chest like admitting 'his bad'. Clint was even two handed shoved out of the way on the backside of the shot and no foul (right in front of the ref). Oh well.

It did look like the Jacks came out with more determination tonight. Handled the press pretty decent but there were some bad passes. Was nice to see them attacking the basket. A lot of fouls were the result. Was nervous towards the end but the Jacks stuck with it and won.
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

Help me out. Who was the player with the cowboy hat. Thought it might be Fisher, but this one was in the 2000 group. Thanks...

I wasn't at the game, but if I had to guess from you description it would be Cody Volmer. He is the only B ball player that would be wearing a cowboy hat that I can think of.

            Impressions:

Terrible way for Mo Berte to end his career. He's a really great kid and told us in an interview how much he loves the community of Brookings and how grateful he has been for all the support he and the team have gotten from the fans. That young man has been through an awful lot and never stopped working his tail off for his teammates and the fans.

Great defensive effort by the Jacks. WIU's offense had us switching all night and the defensive intensity was there throughout.

WIU definitely has rivalry potential. All that whining, flopping, and pushing reminded me of my 3-year-old's daycare. They're an easy team to dislike.

The Summit League bad-uniform-a-thon continued with WIU's strikingly ugly purple with too many white stripes unis. They were bad. Not quite SUU bad, but bad.
            Holy nutmeg!

It was Cody. Talked to him for awhile and he now owns the livestock auction barn out Presho way. Never forget in the Midnight Madness dunk contest when Cody wore his hat!
Bill Fisher was there too. He comes up a lot, living down in Sioux Falls. Was great to see the guys...especially Casey Estling, whom I always admired, and for me personally to see Deane Antoine from the 1950's, now retired and living in Madelia, MN.

              What a night!!!

Hey I remember Dean Antoine, a great player from Flandreau. Those were the days of Walseth-Iverson, I can't remember which he played under but I believe there was a NCC championship when he played.

I would be interested knowing who the gentleman was in the wheelchair. It appears he has had a real battle with diabetitis. Also Former President Woody Berg played, but apparently, it was too cold to be out or he is on one of his world travels. He was not in his usual seat.

Definitely Volmer, who is very proud of his subculture, thus the hat.

He played basketball for Lyman County (Presho, SD).

Not sure, out that way you could be from more than one community, I do believe his father has owned the sale barn in Presho for some time and I suspect Cody has now taken over for his father. No doubt a dream of the father and a plan of the son.

I have not had a chance to listen to WNAX towards noon when they have sale barn mangers on to promote their sales, but I would think you might hear Cody on that program. Maybe WNAX has dropped that programming.
