Bill Miller?

I think thats his name anyways, he was fun to watch.  Not that great of an athlete but worked really hard and had some nice moves underneath.
I think you mean Bill Fischer.
Ohhhh, you see big Bill Fischer at home games every now and then. I believe Bill and Casey Estling were roomies for most of their college experience. Bill was known for some of his nice rim shaking dunks.

I know Bill a little bit and probably saw about every game he played here and am trying to recall those dunks.  He worked his tail off but his bad ankles kept him fairly well glued to the floor!

It's always good to see him and Ryan in Frost Arena for the games, both good guys!

I think I would have to agree...I don't recall any dunks from Bill. :-/

I remember him as a solid big man who despite being hurt alot still contributed. Kind of like Josh Cerveny. Its not so much the big body as the big heart that we are really lacking in the paint right now. I'll take 6'7" 230 lbs if they can play with tenacity and heart.

I hope Bill looks in here and sees that post! He would get a kick out of it! He had a couple of dunks but when I think about "rim shaking dunks", I'm thinking about that one Kai had or back to some of the old school gus like Arvis Young and Matt Jones!

Den, we will have to let him know about it when he comes up next time!

I can't remember Bill being injured alot. Now Cerveny was injured quite a bit.

Josh had a lot of problems with concussions that caused him to  miss games. "Big" Bill did not miss many games, but he had lots of trouble with his feet. I remember Coach Nagy talking at Jackrabbit luncheons about how Bill's feet hampered his play alot. Bill used to only play in the games and not participate in all the practices.

I guess I can't recall if Bill missed that many games or not, I just remeber the problems with his feet. Regardless, Bill was an all-NCC player in 1999 and Cerveny in 2001, we don't have any big guys who would garner similar honors now (if you know what I mean).

My memory (which isn't as good as it was) seems to recall Big Bill making a couple of FT's (not his strong point) with no time left to beat Augie in SF in 1998. The season that ended with a 26-3 record and a loss not to be spoken about here. I couldn't even watch while those FT's were being taken. It was Bill wasn't it?

I believe it was. Reading this thread brought back the same memory. If I remember right, there were missed FT's earlier in the game by either Bill or others that made it real nail-biting. Of course there were the technicals that always helped there.

Bill had some good moves in the lane. He was hampered with foot/ankle problems (if you would have noticed the amount of tape on his feet/ankles, you would have known he was lucky to be on the court). He didn't miss games either. I don't remember the dunks but he could have had some. I do see Bill sitting at the games sometimes sitting with another former Jack, Ryan Johnson. Both were vrey hard workers on the court.
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

We go from talking about the future team and end up talking about BILL FISCHER! Let's live in the future or give Bill Fischer his own column and let it ride off into the past.

By the way, Krogman will not be at SDSU Guaranteed! I have good sources

Last semister Dre was playing ball in Southern California on a JUCO team. I'm guessing he is still there, I forget the name of the school though.

Andre is playing at Mt. San Jacinto College. I do not see on their website that it is a Junior College, although it may be. I doubt that we will ever see him in a Jacks uniform again.
