Sorry but this is all I looked at, and the last time I checked Duke, Texas, UCLA, etc. were not mid majors which is why I was confused

Astat: no need to apologize for confusion on the Message Board. You'll get lots of gentle 'encouragement' from the other posters.

I thought the same thing and was equally confused.

The Sagaring Ratings are now "connected" that is last years performance is no longer a part of the ratings for this year. With that change, the Summit League has jumped to number 18 among conferences, from I think 21 yesterday, ahead of the WAC among others and SDSU has moved to #237. I think we were 265 yesterday.

          http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/bkc0708.htm

Our next three opponents, Denver, Bakerfield and San Jose are ranked 257, 320 and 239 respectively. This would be a good time to get above .500 before starting the rest of the conference action.

It looks like we have a real good chance at winning 5 in a row. I'd be up for that!

And why were our critics of the D-I move always saying we were going into "one of the worst D-I conferences in the country?"

The Summit League is 16th this year in the Pomeroy ratings and the Mid-Con finished 16th last year. Our current RPI rank is 23. Lower yes but far from being the "one of the worst."

With Commisioner Douple's emphasis to increase the stature of basketball in the Summit League, I hope to see these type of ratings increase year after year!

                      I un-stuck this thread.
As of 2/25/08, we're #278 in Sagarin. With luck we can finish above the 300's.

I was trying to avoid that unpleasant little fact . . .

Our final RPI for the year is 326. Our strength of schedule was ranked at 295th hardest in the nation.

NDSU's final RPI for the year is 192, while their strength of schedule was ranked at 287th.

may as well be 1326, in all honesty. There is really no difference in the public opinion ratings.
