I can't say I'm that disappointed. Cut down on the turnovers and this is a close game the whole way. Montana is a very talented team and was picked to finish first by the media this year in the Big Sky.
I watched the game on Summit TV.... pretty good quality a few slow motion moments may be my computer though...
On the team I am glad that they pulled the redshirt on Moss he shows some intensity and played good defense. Team played great first half came out with intensity went to Beran early and worked the Guards couldn't hit anything from outside Kai struggled but still crashed the boards well. Montana is a good team the size advantage showed in the second half. I was happy with Engan and Cordova off of the bench don't know why they didn't play more in the second half. The underclassmen (pretty much the whole team) really showed a lot to me personally they have the athletic ability that past teams haven't. The shooting should come and the turnovers should come down. The rebounding was a lot better tonight a lot the guards crashed the boards well. However when they get the second chance they need to convert. Free throws were better tonight... Very happy even with the loss this team shows the promise that wasn't there the past years.
good post joe! I was in the crowd and that is pretty much what I saw. I thought Garrett played really nice in the 2nd half. No one playing very well tho in the whole entirety of the game. The atmosphere in frost was pretty pathetic but that'll happen when you're football team plays one of the greatest games that most students have ever seen. We will get there, we just have to believe
Jackrabbits: Long ears, strong hind legs, gritty, relentless, fearless.

I would have hoped everyone would be fired up enough to head on over.
Jordon Hasquet, for Montana is a difference maker with his size and shooting ability. He moves pretty good for a 6-9 guy better than any non NBA player I have seen. This is type of player I would like see in the future at SDSU.
We just have too many turnovers. The talent is there no doubt about and I am confidetn that it will get much better. One game at a time.
Ya he played good, he did a lot that won't be seen in the box score... forced a lot of Turnovers pressured SDSU's guards all night and ran the offense well for them...
IMHO the Jacks have improved about 50% since the exhibition. In two games since they are starting to show how much better we might be down the road. Will it be fast? No, but if we make steady progress, things will start to come together.
All I can do is judge how much better off we are this year, compared to last, and I believe we are definitely better. Montana is a pretty good team. Are we that good yet? No...but we had our moments. Better defense, especially by the newcomers, is needed. Kai had some problems with turnovers tonight, and we just went to sleep several times on inbounds and lost the ball. Otherwise, we played right with them. Far better than anything I saw last year.

I watched the game and concur with Nidaros. We had some bright spots...most optimistic I've been in three years about men's basketball getting back on track: I'm convinced from watching the first half that by mid-season, this is a team that will be winning games.
Hasquet -- wow, nice shot whether from three-point range or under the basket, taking his time or getting mugged and being off-balance, he makes the shot.
We have a lot of talent on this team and I'm getting excited about the season.
Better effort tonight....crowd was decent...few thousand but thought maybe there would be more with 16,000 at the football game.
Kai still lacks intensity and was a non-factor tonight. Don't mean to be critical of his play this season but I expected more from him. I'll lower my expectations and maybe will be impressed the next game.
Sargent playing the 1 takes away from his scoring. He's by far the best perimeter shooter and tonight showed they don't have many that can consistently shoot from beyond the arch. 0-11 from 3-pt line until they finally hit one.
Way too many turnovers again and just silly ones....can't make a post entry pass, dribble off the leg, grab a great rebound then a soft pass for a turnover. It's frustrating to watch and at no point did I get the impression that the SDSU athletes felt they were in control of the game and were going to win. The first half was impressive in that the score was tied at the half but it was sluggish and neither team got it going.
Impressed with Cordova the first half. He made a few second half mistakes and rode the pine the rest of the way. I think Coach Nagy is getting frustrated with the lack of intensity and trying to figure out which kids he can rely on to play hard all the time. So far only Clint Sargent has shown consistency from the first three games I've seen.
Matt Martin wasn't a huge factor the first half but he hit some big threes the second half and really didn't shoot too much. Montana has a solid team and should contend for the Big Sky title and most likely be the conference bid for the big dance come March.
Improvement over the Mary and DWU games, but not enough to win. Play harder and more consistent, cut down on the 20+ turnovers and a win is within their reach.
