It might not mean anything, but about an hour ago Stoney replied to Hendo's announcement tweet with a "Much love Hendo" along with a heart. When I read it, it didn't sound like something he would say if he was going with. Hopefully that means he's staying, along with a bunch more.

I am hoping Petersen gets us back into JUCO recruiting. With the new rules of JUCO eligibility, it could be a sneaky way to bring in players with experience.

        Hell Yes!!

The Coach Pete era is ready to begin. This was my first choice from the get go, and I have to congratulate Justin Sell. I'm pretty sure this plan was in place, when they redid his contract a few years back.

Great guy, and great coach. We may still lose some players, but this will limit that, I think.

Is the ruling that JUCO years don't count towards NCAA eligibility permanent ?

I saw Jayden Jackson did the same thing. I also took it as a good sign, but obviously doesn't guarantee anything.

my impression was that that was a limited ruling and that going forward anyone choosing JUCO would do it with the knowledge that JUCO years absolutely would count against eligibility at a 4 year school. but who knows?? the way the courts operate today, it is probably just a matter of choosing the correct judge to take your case to

They have put up a 2025/26 roster page up at GoJacks.com that has been updated to list Petersen as the head coach. It still has all the assistants there as well. Very well could be subject to change.

Peterson may have had a big hand in the recruitment of Davis Kern from Marion, Iowa…suburb of Cedar Rapids home to Kirkwood. Davis was not nominated Mr. Basketball but I believe he was rated 3rd for Mr. Basketball in Iowa and from a 4A school…and will be one of three recruits for this Fall so far. Hopefully Peterson can keep Davis here!!

Excited for the future of MBB, great decision hire Coach Pete. It will be interesting to see how the staff and roster shake out. It wouldn't surprise if a couple follow but I don't think Hendo will act the same way as Rogers.

Suppose that might make sense given his history at Buena Vista and Drake

Definitely an interesting offseason, and the Petersen hire is well regarded. As for comparing the coaching departures, I'd be curious if folks would consider the ratio of players each "takes" vis a vis roster size. For instance, if each have 20 percent of the roster follow them, would that begin to be seen as Henderson being "as bad/nearly as bad" as Rogers?

Not saying I expect Hendo to behave like many of us think Rogers did. There does seem to be some irony in terms of a couple posts referencing Henderson "wanting out," whereas Rogers' exit seemed to take many by surprise.
