It would seem to make sense to come up with a system where season ticket holders could gift tickets they aren't going to use back to the athletic dept. and receive credit as a donation. The tickets could then be resold. Seems like a win-win for everyone and allows fans who can't buy season tickets for whatever reasons access to decent seats. And creates extra income.

I think the athletic dept has encouraged people to resell tickets via SeatGeek which has helped somewhat. There is a large Facebook group that is also very active for ticket transfers. Only so much they can do to encourage people to give them up if they can’t make it. I still appreciate our athletic dept only reporting seats filled with butts. As we all know, if USD and others did that their attendance numbers would be drastically different.

It might also be suggested to donors who have season tickets that are seldom used to never used have an offer for suite use with a few concessions & drinks. Those remaining open seats could be sold to season ticket holders who would leave open seats for "general admission". It is disappointing to register less than 4,000 for a sold out game. It is not rocket science for the department to identify where there are open seats every week. I know someone who sat center court above the scorer table for years and that was not his ticket number.

We should find out next Saturday how many we can get in the new arena. Student section should be packed. I honestly dont see how we can fit 5000 in there. But we will find out Saturday

It has to be in the 4,500 to 4,700 range because the Duke women's game was listed at about 4,600 and that looked jam packed.
