  • GDT: SDSU vs ORU 4:15pm FB&T Arena Midco2/SLN

2nd year HC Springmann has a familiar ORU team that includes 9 transfers on the roster. He also has McBride(former Vanderbilt) who is the preseason POY for the Summit. McBride is the leading scorer & assists for the Golden Eagles. He is joined by freshman guard Moore in the double digit scoring. Rice transfer, 6'6" forward Alajiki, has been injured for a month had been the #2 scorer. ORU lost by 10 at Vermillion Thursday. ORU is 0-9 on the road this season. It would be great to see the Jackrabbits have another great game like Thursday. ORU is allowing 79 points/game. Go Jacks!!
Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

Turnovers and fouls keeping ORU in this. Clean those two areas up and we should be able to pull away.

Wilkinson has really developed into a very good backup for Oscar, especially considering that he's a freshman.

surely, Oscar will explore his draft status this offseason, but imagine if he stays for even one more year. give these freshman another year. this team could be REALLY special

That would be so exciting. Hopefully the Collective is thinking about how to keep him.

I have to give a huge kudos to Shon Morris, very good analyst and makes it feel like a big time game.
Even Elsen has been good, his homer status hasn't been showing thru as much.

have to agree with all of this. always thought he was the biggest homer in the business but it feels like greater exposure to the Jacks has led to a much greater appreciation for Jacks style athletics and a more balanced approach.

Larson really did a good job on him, he finally got hot at the end but he was pretty well guarded even on those late 3's that he hit. Holding him to 14 shots for the game was a win.

agreed! Larson did a very good job. for instance last week Mors had no answers for Sutton. i mean NOTHING bad about Mors. he worked hard and he is a very valuable part of this team. but he does not have the ability to bother Sutton and Sutton had a great day

today McBride had good stats but he had to work his tail off for it and he had a frustrating, uncomfortable day

finally, gotta say, that late layup on the right side of the hoop for McBride was NUTS! but an excellent example of the type of things he had to do today to put points on the board

p.s. as far as Sutton goes, I am not sure what the plan would be for him going forward. maybe it is just zero help. let him get his but shut everyone else off see if he has the guts to go for 50+? maybe it is put Garry on him and double him in the post? but we do not have a single player that is a good one on one matchup for him

The Arena page on Go Jacks indicates there will be seating for about 5,000.
The SRO crowd was 3681. What am I missing?

I think the problem is a lot of corporate and season ticket holders don’t use or give away their tickets on days like today when it could be a true sellout. Bummer as many would go or take the tickets if they sold them and the empty seats on tv are discouraging.

We should find out next Saturday how many we can get in the new arena. Student section should be packed. I honestly dont see how we can fit 5000 in there. But we will find out Saturday

It would seem to make sense to come up with a system where season ticket holders could gift tickets they aren't going to use back to the athletic dept. and receive credit as a donation. The tickets could then be resold. Seems like a win-win for everyone and allows fans who can't buy season tickets for whatever reasons access to decent seats. And creates extra income.
