i feel like Dent has been as good as any post player in the league, but i am gonna guess Conover (ORU) and Nelson (NDSU) get more votes than Dent does for the all conference team, and i guess it wont be a giant surprise if some voters also like Fideler and / or Kamateros better. Again, for me, I am taking Dent over any of them!! but i know i am biased and i also know i have not seen all those guys games

With so many games being televised, streamed, etc home crowds have finished for many basketball teams. There are probably 12-15 home mens games and an equal number for the women. Compare that to only 6 regular season home football games. Frost pre-renovation held 6,500 and now during renovation 4500(?). The new “frost “ will have seating for 6,500. I have only lived here for 20 years and wonder where they put 10,000? Was the capacity more than the 6,500 I stated?

when was the last time the men drew 5000 and how often? The woman have dne it during WNIT runs. 5500 should be enough.

obviously most of the biggest games are vs augie and the u. augie was probably more often good in the 80s and usd and the jacks pretty much dominated the 90s
but i would say i am almost positive we had at least one game with over 6k against all of UND, NDSU, UNC, Morningside, and UNO i dont know why i am less willing to say that about the minnesota schools. they definitely had some good teams during that same time
and Salem to your point about then vs now, the atmosphere at Frost is still AWESOME (to the point i am really REALLY nervous about the decision to make significant changes) but i was at many of those over 7k crowd games. and it was DEFINITELY BETTER
the 1989 augie game with over 9400 the crowd basically never sat and in my old memory almost never stopped cheering one or the other of lets go rabbits, or augie sucks. i am really NOT a fan of negative cheering but for some reason that is a classic that i will miss forever!! and the regional in i believe 97 when we beat Fort Hays, we had about 7500 in both the semifinal and final both crowds were INCREDIBLE and against Ft Hays, my memory says that we chanted lets go rabbits from the time the teams came out for warmups until the final horn
in each of those cases it actually felt like the building was shakingLast edited by LetsGoRabbits; 02-12-2023, 02:30 PM.

5500 seems plenty big for me. I’d much rather have it be hard to get tickets for big games than be mostly empty the other 70% of the time. Sellouts create buzz. 3,000 fans is a rare gate these days, outside of 2-3 games (or the final couple of the WNIT).
Also, sacrificing comfort and good sight lines in favor of more seats is really sketchy. Ask NDSU fans how they like those crammed together seats in their refurbished arena.
Given what we see with reported attendance numbers all over the country, I do have to wonder how they counted those crowds of 9000 back in the day. Accurate or not, nobody had the option of turning on Midco in the man cave instead of going in person.
