Lee had a lot of overseas connections that got the foreign- born players to Vermillion. Will be interesting to see if Kamateros stays. Losing Perrott-Hunt kind of balances out any advantage the Yotes might get if they would happen to land Bruns.

And what happens if Dawn gets an offer to coach at a P5 school and takes it. Will AJ stay?

One major advantage Dawn has over AJ is being a female. When the UofM hired Whalen it was rumored that they were only looking to hire a female coach if I recall correctly.

Dawn is a great coach and what she's done with the USD program is great for the Summit League. That program is forcing us to continue our upward climb. It'd be nice if the rest of the league would follow suit.

Wingett into the portal. Shouldn’t be too much of a surprise here. After being a role player previously, he’s playing time was bare this season. Good 3 point shooter, just not quite good enough all around offensively or defensively to carve out a role. He came from Memphis to SDSU. A Winnebago , Nebraska native. Will be interesting to see where he lands.

sounds like a big drop, but his shooting will proabby do amazing at the nsic........if he wants to play, he would be good enough to earn plenty of minutes there. a long way from memphis and SDSU, but get on the court at least.

I have a feeling he goes to Wayne State. Puts him close to home and a great way for him to finish off his collegiate career in front of friends and family. Wish David the best wherever he goes.

I wouldn’t be surprised with Black Hills State either. Currently playing in the D2 elite 8.

Apparently there''s a solid chance David Jenkins is a Yote next year.......

I think the Jacks need to load up on P5 pre-conference games next year at least 5 or 6...to get used to the physicality and to get the NET boost for playing them instead of D-II or low-major D-I teams--even at the expense of giving up a couple of home games. Unlike on the women's side where both SDSU and USD are now perennial 30-ish NET teams (helping each other's ratings out in conference play), the men's Summit League conference schedule isn't likely to help the NET rating much at all, and for better or worse, that's what the NCAA tournament committee looks at.

That's life as a medium-high-mid-major with aspirations for more, I'm afraid.

It would be nice if we played the Sanford Pentagon classic and then maybe another classic at a tropical location. There is probably 5 major conference games right there.

i TOTALLY agree!!! but i believe that they have been trying to do this OR something close to it for a long time. dont you think??

i really think the problem is that P5 teams are not overly interested in playing us, even at home for them

totally agree with Salem that the holiday tournaments are the best opportunity to do that.... FOR NOW. i think there is a day in the future when these games will be easier to schedule, although it might be a very VERY long time before we get any significant programs to come into frost arena

WOW i think the thoughts about this will just keep coming for quite a while

first off that would seem to be one of two things, an admission that he NEVER should have left SDSU, or an admission that he was more or less disinvited from the jacks

i mean i believe the thought was that he was ready for bigger and better things. coming back to the same conference to the undoubted lesser team seems an admission that he would have been better off exactly where he was at

ALSO it seems that the relationship at Utah must have been ok since he is sticking with one of his coaches from there, BUT does it also mean somebody realized that he was NOT going to be a significant part of the Utah plan for next year???

anyway i already have a lot more thoughts and i think i will have a lot more

but he had unquestionable basketball talent!!!! i hope he can put it all together and end his career in a good way. NOT excited about that being at usd and not going to count that chicken until it hatches!!
