Pork Classic is today at Frost. Bring your pickup and bid on the hog to raise money for the SDSU athletics. There will also be a good crowd present urging and cheering the Jackrabbits to a much needed victory. Those funky Mastodons(ranked #10 in MidMajor poll) will be looking anxious to take the floor as well. They are shooting 50% from the floor with a 43.2% accuracy from 3 point land. The Mastodons will only get to the line 17.6 times per game. That does not matter since they score almost 89 points per game. This not a group to allow open shots anywhere. The defense will need to be played at the premium gold standard level-whether it is m2m or zone-to stay in this game. Ft Wayne has a strong starting lineup with Evans, Konchar, Scott, Calhoun, and Harrell. They will give a healthy dose of these guys as 4 of these guys average 29.7-36.3 minutes in conference games. The Jackrabbits need to start winning some games to break the top 8 in conference. Hopefully all the close games can bounce to the winning side today rather than stretching the dismal side of the bottom. Go Jacks!!

More surprising start to conference play? Ipfw tied for 5th or jacks in 9th.

If oral Roberts holds against Omaha this almost becomes must win territory. A loss would put them 2 games out of 8th

My goodness, Mike Daum is good, starting to wonder where his ceiling is.

Honestly he's gotta get better on the defensive end. If he was as good there as on the offensive end his ceiling is quite high.

Half: SDSU 32, IPFW 30.

IPFW ends the half on an 8-0 run.

Jacks play M2M all half and played well in it at times. Look much better than they do in zone.

IPFW was only 4-11 from deep in the first half and I expect that to pick up in the 2nd half. Jacks will have to respond. This is a must win.
