When hiring a head coach its about more than just on the court type of things.

Nagy was given some leash because many understood that transition was going to be hard.

This year Ithink the big problem is many thought they would be title contenders.

I don't have a problem giving the coach some time, but I do question defensive effort, and defensive focus

I know he's a new coach and all of this, and as the year progresses my expectations have drastically dropped. But i do have 4 good tickets for Summitt and kids are planning on staying at Ramada water park, so could we please please please at least qualify for the Summitt tourney

How about this "random thought"?

Start Thiessen AND Daum together. Daum moves well... he can play the 4. They can BOTH shoot from 3. That would prevent teams from "getting Daum into foul trouble", by having to Guard their big guy.

You can still play "small ball" with Telly at the 4 about half the time... but you don't need to start the game that way. And/or maybe you keep 2 bigs out there and use Dykman..

Problem with this... Hess or Telly probably would have to come off the bench (be hard for either of them to guard a true #2 guard).

I have no problem with Orris starting, if they feel he's the answer. But then I'd like to see Flatten next to him. If you want to start Tevin King... then let Wallace run the point... hard to start 2 "non shooters" at the guards.

I do think the team can turn some things around. I don't think they are winning the Summit this year, and I do think things look bad right now. Sometimes, that's what it takes. There is talent on this team.

I think it's ok to bring Hess or Telly off the bench. IMO, it's a good thing to bring a scorer off the bench. Look at how Daum was used last year. He was instant offense off the bench.

I would agree to bringing Hess off the bench, with Telly not playing quite as many minutes - he is currently averaging almost 34 minutes (2 more than Daum). Otz said that Hess mainly played the 4 at Southern Utah and that is his natural position. Split minutes at the 3 spot with Flatten and Severyn. Theisen and Daum together is fine if Ian is healthy enough for big minutes. You then have to be ready to give Dykman some minutes, as he is the closest thing to a post player off the bench. After the ORU game, I think you need to give Howell some minutes at PG .

Here's a random thought. One benefit of being so bad is: At least we aren't singling out individual players as lazy anymore.

Without looking, I would guess record vs 1st place team, then 2nd, 3rd and on down the line.
