Your name and location makes this even better.

I thought the Houston Cougars coach had a really good quote on that, when he was asked about transfers and coaches.

It could be, yes, but every student athlete knows of this before they sign. That's the breaks. Life isn't always fair.

TK makes a valid point. Everyone might not agree. Note that when a coach leaves, there usually is not a mass exodus.

i have deleted posts that refer to specific athletes who might transfer -- that is only speculation right now. Filbert's attribution rule in the Board Guidelines has not been followed.

Some posters have pointed out that some tweets about Nagy telling the player by phone appears to be incorrect. Situations like this seem to invite misinformation as people are scrambling for info.

One can find some humor in this thread. GrimReaper appears at post 45--only his second post since joining in April, 2015. You can click on his name and a drop down box appears--choose view all posts. That will bring up his first post made in December. It's pretty funny (ends with "vote for Trump"). MontanaRabbit's reply "Eric, is that you?" Made me laugh too.

Some truth here. Also gave rep pts. I hate to see anyone in the red on reputation points, even the devil does not deserve that.

I tend to agree. It's been a hot topic recently on the football side of things with schools limiting where kids can transfer.

                Re: Transfers Leaving

No AD in their right mind is going prevent an athlete from transferring after a coach leaves. They're not indentured servants.

Maybe so, but if that AD has his right mind, he's not going to allow it to happen until after the new coach is hired and has had a chance to meet with the players.

So using that logic, if a coach is fired than all the players should lose their scholarships since they committed to the coach and not the school ?

                      Re: Transfers Leaving

There is a year of eligibility to lose with a transfer as well, unless you move down. That's a lot to lose.

I think we can conclude, they are all under contract, but different terms and for different purposes. I think if a SA has found a major he/she is comfortable with they seem less likely to leave. They came for an education and a BB career is secondary. Life is about making a living and not playing games. That is the ones we like to watch as fans. It will all work out.

Yet it happens all across the country.

That seems like quite the strawman argument.

Sure about that? Subject to various exceptions (e.g. Medical), an athlete has four years of eligibility to use in five years. If the athlete transfers, they sit out a year but do no lose a year just for transferring (assuming a redshirt year wasn't taken or other exceptions apply). Example: If Slosho played two years as a shooting guard at Duke and then transferred to SDSU, he would sit a year. After sitting a year, he could play two years for the Jacks.

Enough of this transfer talk of the remaining players. Here's a Stuart Smalley Monday morning positive vibe for you. Our new coach is going to be so well received by the current players, fans, and alumni, that not only will the current players stay , but our new coach will bring in some big-time JUCOs to compliment Daum, Telly, and the others and will put us right back in the NCAA Tourney next year. BOOM!
