I don't follow his tweets. Am I missing something? Nothing like piling on.

Check again. It hasn't been deleted. It is what it is folks. We aren't getting T.V. back, but in the same respect, Zim is probably much better than the alternative.

The issue I think most have with Zimmer is more related to how good TV was in providing us with coverage. Zimmer certainly has a continuing love of Augustana. I can't imagine our local paper brining in the Wisconsin beat writer to cover gopher sports. People just wouldn't accept it here.

My thin skin comment relates to his not understanding the customer is (while not always right) paying your salary. I agree with the sentiment of a video recorder, a tri pod and push play. Nobody is asking him to edit and work post production on a movie.

I remember a few years ago when GoJacks would put in post game comments from players and coaches in the game recap story. Maybe it was just for tournament games, Maybe if a bug was to get to the SID's ear at State and tell him the interest is there for it, maybe.....

The home games are available on You tube. The road games have not ever appeared that I have found. Those post game items are more the responsibility of the university or conference. In the past, it was available on the Argus site for most home games and some road games. They may have also posted much of the tournament post games in the past. Once again, that may fall into the conference site responsibility and that would remove the Argus from the hassle. It would seem that someone at gojacks could slide a link on the game story which would bring the road post game items as well.

Thanks OH for finally posting an answer to all the gripping about MZ. It should be the university's job, if they are going to host an after game interview (coaches and players) to post it somewhere visible to fans...and they have been doing it on FB. Either way, if you have a complaint about it...take it to the university (start with the sports information office). I think they would welcome your views. If a link isn't posted on Go Jacks...that might be a nice solution to the situation.

Aren't talking to the media and poat game stuff regulated by the conference? Unless I just assumed it was for the medias sake to give them a little insight and something to add to the write up.

I think Terry did the things he did because he wanted to give the fans what they wanted. I think he really loved his job, even though he left it for a better one. Don't know how MZ views things,he might take a different attitude. That said, everyone's different I guess.

As far as whose job it is, the schools or the beat writer covering school sporting events,I'll defer to popular opinion as I have no idea. All I really know is things are different, and it might take some time to adjust to the new ways. For me anyway.

For those who haven't seen it, a lot about the post game media interviews was discussed in the latest live talk from the Argus Leader, with Matt Zimmer hosting.Link:http://www.argusleader.com/story/sports/college/south-dakota-state-university/2014/04/08/mattzimmer-live-chat/746419

Oops, read back a ways in this thread and didn't realize all this has already been discussed, sorry to re-hash an old topic.

Didn't assistant coach Clarissa Nord do a lot of games and put them on vimeo?Seems she did for one year.Just highlites though, no coaches post game comments or post game player comments in answer to media questions.

Man. Reading through these (mostly) anti-Zimmer threads every few weeks, I'm starting to wonder if money wasn't the only reason Terry left. Maybe catering to every wish and whim of Jackrabbit fans was causing him some behind-the-scenes work-related stress and he needed something a little less life-consuming. Would love to see what would happen if Zimmer bails on you guys and you're stuck with whichever outsider the Argus brings in to replace him.

Nice to see Zimmer's family members have time to post on the board.

I enjoy Zimmer on the beat and think he does a great job.

However, if he did leave for some reason, I'm guessing the Division 1 SDSU beat would attract a high quality candidate applying to the Argus. It's only an assumption, but that type of opportunity with the most loyal following in South Dakota would draw good interest from a seasoned reporter or an up and coming recent college grad looking for their big opportunity to make a mark in sports journalism. It wouldn't necessarily be the same as trying to bring someone in to cover two division 2 teams...although it seems the new guy Ian is doing fine with that, too. Admittedly, I haven't followed his media very closely.

It wouldn't take much to match Zim's production, so it wouldn't really be that big of a deal.

What can anyone add about the WIU Leather necks except we have beat them down there? I don't know how this got to be about ZIM but it has. Perhaps some of us just don't have the Augustana Advantage and bitch too much.
