So are we saying the reported attendance was incorrect? The reported attendance was 3200 which is also the reported seating capacity for the Pentagon which would indicated a sell-out.

On TV it looked pretty full with the exception of the bleachers behind the baskets.

That is a deal if you compared game to a concert at the Premier Center where the tickets are $85-$230 each. Everyone has to make those tough decisions. I can skip the lunch with my wife where the ticket is $24 before a tip to soften the cost for some extra outings. $40 seems a bit high and I would expect some of that money is spent for the travel and accommodations of the visiting team. It brings a competitive game for the Jackrabbits and shows off the Pentagon as well.

There were a few seats in a couple of the corners as well as a seat here and there. The one seat next to us was sold and the husband must not have been able to get there even though his wife expected him to arrive late.

FWIW, last year was considered sold out with an attendance of 3250.http://www.gojacks.com/ViewArticle.d...CLID=209788024

            Thanks.

I think that proves it was priced according to demand. Some people may have made the decision it was too expensive which is fine, but the market says otherwise.

3200/3250 = 98.5% of capacity. I think anyone would be happy with that.

On TV you could see people standing at the railing in the upper levels. Do they sell standing room only tickets?

No there is actual seating up there, plus the suites on each corner.

                  Re: GDT: SDSU vs MTSU

I thought last year's crowd looked better, but there probably were not more than 200 empty seats. It's still disappointing that game was not sold out way ahead of time. We're talking about a 3,000 seat arena in a city with over 200,000 people within an hour drive. I would not think that an extra $15 per seat would be enough (on it's own) to keep the game from selling out. It's a bigger apathy issue.

Whatever the case, I've really enjoyed both Pentagon games. That's a great building and the vibe is different than Frost. It's more of an NBA feel with the sound system and pregame intro. I would not want it for every game but once or twice a year is great. The truth is, I'm probably very biased because Sioux Falls is 45 minutes closer to home and I don't have to sit way up in some high school-style wooden bleachers like I would at Frost.

Yep, noticed on the highlights it was pretty well full. I was one that wasn't willing to shell out that much $$, but price be damned, pretty hard to argue with the turnout, and that's a good thing!

                          Re: GDT: SDSU vs MTSU

One of the more important things about this game was the tenacity of the team to play hard without 2 starters. The Jackrabbits ended the OOC with an 11-3 record. Everyone had contributions and I would speculate there was some lessons learned during the spurt that MTSU employed the defensive pressure. This team should be in the mix for a great Summit League season. Is it possible for them to have 3 or less conference losses and keep the streak alive in Frost?

missed layups and FT's really cost the team... could have easily won by 10+.

Still, missing who they are missing, and playing a good squad.

A good win. Regardless of how ugly it was.

Didnt we struggle at Weber State with FTs too? didnt have many to shoot, but if we shoot a higher% maybe we sneak out that win.

made the game thanks to Mitchellrabit, made me an offer I couldnt refuse. It was my first game there and thought it was good building. crowd seemed like it needed a little encouragement to get into it. The first 5 mintues I think gave us and the team a little false hope. Felt like we should have won by 20. If we are healthy we probably do, and our FT % with Bittle and marshall easily improves the team avg. Anyway it was a good game and a good test to start confrence play with.
                              I would have guessed 2500 -2800.

Line was -5....those missed FT's cost somebody some money.

I have no idea how a coach gets his guys motivated to gut out a game like that. It means almost nothing ultimately to win or lose. Its all about getting it right for the conference season and not getting hurt and then ultimately about winning 3 games in March.

No matter what anybody tells you the Summit league is a auto bid league forever. Doesn't matter if the conference has a top 10 RPI. The only place that matter might be with post-season seeding. The NCAA tourney as we know it will be gone soon enough and then you will see multiple teams in whatever post season tourney replaces it for non-major conference schools. Let's call it DIAA basketball.
